It's the final week of our campaign. Over the past few weeks, we've been sharing facts and addressing some of the common misconceptions about housing and migration, so you have the information to challenge something if it’s not right.

Today's myth:
"Asylum seekers are flooding the UK."

The fact:
Asylum seekers make up a small proportion of people who come to the UK. Research shows that around 5% of migrants to the UK are asylum seekers, while many others arrive to study, work, or fill essential roles in key sectors.

These myth-busting posts are based on research carried out by the National Housing Federation.

Every home matters. That's why we're committed to tackling tenancy fraud and ensuring our homes are available for people who genuinely need them.

Although the vast majority of our customers do the right thing, tenancy fraud can have a real impact on families waiting for a home.

Examples of tenancy fraud:

• Subletting your entire MSV home to someone else
• Living elsewhere and not using the property as your main home
• Providing false information on a housing application
• Making a fraudulent claim to succeed a tenancy

Remember, tenancy fraud is a criminal offence and can lead to an unlimited fine and up to two years in prison.

If you suspect fraud, report it confidentially:

📧 [email protected]
📞 0161 226 4211
👤 Speak to your Neighbourhood, Later Living or Supported Housing Officer

Your report could help ensure a home is available for a family in need.

Today's myth:
