What does your number plate actually mean? 🚐

Ever wondered what all those letters and numbers tell you?

UK number plates reveal more than you might think…
The first two letters show where the vehicle was registered, the two numbers represent the registration age, and the final three letters are randomly assigned.
It's a quick way to tell how old a vehicle is and where it first entered the road.

With temperatures rising again across the UK, heatwaves can put extra pressure on your vehicle and increase the risk of breakdowns.

According to the RAC, drivers should carry out a few essential checks before setting off in hot weather to help keep journeys safe and stress-free.
- Coolant levels – Low coolant can cause your engine to overheat quickly in high temperatures.
- Tyre pressure & tread – Hot roads and underinflated tyres increase the risk of blowouts.
- Oil levels – Make sure your engine oil is topped up and sitting between the minimum and maximum marks.
- Air conditioning – Check your air conditioning is working properly before long journeys.
- Screen wash & lights – Visibility is just as important during summer driving.
It’s also a good idea to carry water, a phone charger and sunscreen in case you break down in the heat.

Soaring temperatures are causing a significant increase in vehicle breakdowns, with the RAC reporting up to 20% more failures than usual for this time of year.
