🌟 A WHOPPING £5000 raised! 🌟

We wanted to say a huge thank you to all of our amazing runners who took on the ASICS Manchester Half on Sunday, who have raised over £5000 between them for Francis House!

The money will make a profound difference to all of the children, young adults and families that we support. You're all superstars and we are very grateful for your efforts ❤️

🌈 The final chapter of Rainbow Road is taking shape!

At the end of September, we welcomed Stockport MP Navendu Mishra to Francis House Residential to unveil a community-created tile at our Barcicroft Road home, marking the start of the Tile Trail’s final stage.

Created with help from Grit Studios and Men in Sheds, three additional tiles have now found permanent homes at Francis House and our two residential homes.

The visit was also an opportunity to introduce Interability, a project bringing young adults with complex health needs and people from the wider community together through shared interests, from art and music to technology and storytelling. 🤝

At its heart is a simple belief: everyone has something to contribute, and meaningful relationships give us all opportunities to learn, share and connect.

Meet the Francis House Iron Men! 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

A huge congratulations to Simon Smith and Rob Daws, who completed separate IRONMAN events in Weymouth and China, raising over £3,000 for Francis House between them! 💜

An incredible achievement for both, with so much training, determination and effort behind every swim, pedal and step.

🌄 A huge well done to our incredible Snowdon Sunrise Walk team!

The group faced extremely challenging weather conditions, including winds of up to 70mph. For everyone’s safety, they made the difficult but absolutely right decision to turn back before reaching the summit.

While the weather may have stopped them reaching the top, it certainly didn’t take away from what they achieved. Together, the team raised an amazing £4,000 for Francis House! 💛

The challenge held special meaning for several members of the group. Bereaved mum Donna Davenport took part, Emma Roberts - a bereaved aunt - joined the climb, and our very own fundraiser Jo walked in support of her niece, Devon, a current user of the hospice. We were also delighted to have support from teams at 7X Partners and RCS.

A special mention to RAW Adventures who led the group up the mountain.

Thank you and well done to everyone who braved the conditions, supported the walkers and donated. We’re incredibly proud of you all! 👏

Congratulations to Kate and Fergus for being Highly Commended at the 2026 BBC Manchester Make a Difference Awards! 🌟

Although Kate and Fergus narrowly missed out on the win for their award category, they came away from the night having been Highly Commended. They were both dressed to impress for the night, and they're certainly winners in our eyes. ❤️

Well done to you both, and thank you for all the joy you bring to all our families and staff at the hospice!
