At a point of unimaginable pain for Henry's family, they have called for unity.

Despite this, some - including Nigel Farage and Stephen Laxley-Yennon better known as Tommy Robinson - have called for "cold, hard rage" and pedalled irresponsible narratives such as two-tier policing to sow division. This has once again caused far-right violence on our streets.

This flies in the face of decades of evidence of institutional failure within policing and disparities faced by racialised communities. This includes many cases of deaths in police custody for which meaningful steps towards accountability are long overdue.

Our focus should be on, as Henry's family have said, making this a turning point to make our streets safer. And we must end deaths in police custody.
