The Saturday before last, MAD Walkers went on a epic adventure. This was The Grand Tour of the North, a grand day out which covered 272 rail miles between 3 cities, 1 town and a very big bridge. We also walked 14.9 km (we are a walking group after all!)
The highlights of the day:
Chilling in big (and little) chairs in Sheffield.
Having a pint in an ancient pub and a bar with a canal running through in Nottingham
Visiting the stunningly beautiful Lincoln cathedral
Walking across the Humber Bridge
Exploring Hull Old Town
Having fish and chips outside Selby Abbey
There was even a quiz! Scott Henderson winning the coveted Northern Rail mug!
Big thank to Owain Roberts for organising and leading a cracking day out.
Socials are a big part of what makes MAD Walkers such a vibrant group. They're a great way of meeting new people, making new friends, exploring different places or trying something new. From board games nights to roller skating, from food festivals to music festivals, there is something for every one.
Fancy putting on your own social? We're always looking for people to put on socials. Check out the website for more details on our current socials and how you can put your own social on.
