Manchester Refugee Support Network - MRSN

Manchester Refugee Support Network - MRSN Run by refugees, MRSN supports Manchester’s refugee communities and asylum seekers, across a range of free services.

We help people through the immigration/asylum system and provide community outreach, training and well being support + much more. Manchester Refugee Support Network (MRSN) is a grass-roots organisation directly managed by refugee communities, based in Manchester. MRSN aims to build strong and independent refugee community organisations, develop the skills of community leaders and give people the i

nformation they need to settle and build new lives. Our work focuses on development of refugee organisations, advice and advocacy, campaigns, and providing practical support and guidance for refugees and asylum seekers who are settling in the UK having fled conflict and persecution. At MRSN, we help refugees and asylum seekers to get the basic support they need to live again with dignity. Then we help them build safe, happy and productive lives in the UK.

Our Spring 2026 Newsletter is here 💌

From challenging new asylum policies to powerful stories of resilience, this edition shares what MRSN has been doing across asylum support, immigration advice, hotel work and refugee integration – plus how you can get involved.

We’ve already raised over £2,000 to protect our Asylum Support Service, but we urgently need to raise at least £10,000 (and as much as we can) to keep this lifeline open.

Children in the UK are facing an unprecedented attack on their rights. The government is consulting on plans to:

- Cut off asylum support from families who’ve been refused protection

- Remove support from some care leavers because of their immigration status

- Allow physical force to be used against children during removals, even by officers without body cameras or child-specific training

These changes will only create more fear, destitution, homelessness, violence and misery for children and young people.

Head to the link in our bio for 's clear, practical guide to the consultation and submit your response before the 28th May 2026 – every voice counts in resisting these plans.

The Government is cracking down on family reunion. Children who’ve already survived war and persecution could be left alone and in danger if we don’t act now.

Refugees deserve safety and stability, not more years of anxiety and insecurity. Limiting refugee protection to just 30 months will cause harm, not help — to individuals, families, and the communities that support them.
