Recently, people joining our Red Door centre team's Cook Well session, made some delicious recipes, including breakfast parfait, strawberry cheesecake and chocolate mouse with orange zest.

The food was simple to make and low cost too - and tasted delicious!

One of the attendees said: "I really enjoyed making this food, it's easy to make and I am going to make this at home."

One of our residents at Caritas House, our supported accommodation for men experiencing homelessness in Manchester, led a wonderful cookery session recently.

The meal was made using donated cabbage and pasta, alongside some fresh basil grown by residents in our garden too.

Everyone fed back it was delicious!

Did you know we have an accommodation in Blackburn for young parents and their babies?

Our team helps them prepare for independent living, providing a safe, nurturing environment where young mothers and fathers can develop parenting skills to enable their babies to thrive.

The families recently had a creative play session, and made these lovely pictures. ❤️

Join us for the Caritas Conference, a free day of learning and reflection on the social teaching of Pope Leo XIV.

The conference will include insights into Dilexi te and Magnifica humanitas, looking at what the documents mean for us when responding to injustice locally.

Renowned theologian, Anna Rowlands, will be a guest speaker on the day. Anna is the St Hilda Professor in Catholic Social Thought and Practice at Durham University and was seconded to the Vatican in 2023 to contribute to the Synod on Synodality. She was recently reappointed by Pope Leo as a member of the Dicastery of Integral Human Development for a further five-year period, and earlier this year she was among the speakers at the launch of Pope Leo's first encyclical, Magnifica humanitas, addressing the ethical and social implications of AI.

The event, which will take place at St Patrick's Church, Livesey Street, Manchester, M4 5HF, on Saturday 10 October from 11.30am to 3.30pm (with lunch provided), is open to all.
