⭐Happy Volunteers’ Week! All this week we will be celebrating the brilliant volunteers who make our work possible.

Volunteering not only helps us, it’s very much a two-way street:

When Kelly lost her job after 16 years, she decided to take positive action. 💚

Through our Give & Gain Employability Programme, Kelly rebuilt her confidence, developed new warehousing skills and secured a new role with Greggs - all while continuing to volunteer and support others in her community.

Her story is a reminder that volunteering can open doors, build confidence and create new opportunities.

⭐Last year, 209 volunteers donated an amazing 23,962 hours of their time to support our work.

⭐This , we want to say a huge thank you to everyone of them for all their brilliant support.

⭐A chance visit to FareShare Greater Manchester changed Tom's future.

What started as accompanying his mum to a volunteer induction turned into an opportunity to gain new skills, build confidence and take the first steps towards a career in hospitality.

Now, after volunteering in our warehouse and supporting our Vegelicious cookery programme, Tom has secured a role as a Kitchen Porter at prestigious city centre hotel.

This Volunteers' Week, we're celebrating the incredible impact volunteers make – not only in their communities, but in their own lives too.

Have you heard our FareShare Greater Manchester podcasts yet?
Last December, we began making and sharing recordings that provide insight into the work we do to tackle food insecurity and food waste. As well as offering an overview of our operations, we feature background stories from many of the great initiatives we support, in which project personnel describe the services they provide to some of Greater Manchester's most vulnerable people.
Each episode focuses on a different aspect of what we and our partners do; giving a wide angle view of the organisation. We feature chat sections with our staff and volunteers, who offer a peek into the day-to-day running of FareShare from many different perspectives.
