Trans Creative is a trans led arts company in Manchester which aims to support trans people to TELL THEIR OWN STORIES increase visibility and positive representation and make some excellent art. Artistically led by Kate O’Donnell the company has increased the representation of trans people in arts and leadership positions while engaging a diverse trans audience

Trans Creative was founded in res

ponse to a growing demand for creative trans work with the goal of creating trans-led projects that boast trans owned narratives. It is still commonplace for transgender stories to be written and performed by cisgender artists. we want to offer an authentic voice and showcase trans led work and creatively explore these stories and nurture a confident trans community within the arts and in wider culture. Trans Creative was initially funded through Arts Council England’s Elevate Fund and partnerships with several NPO and LGBT organisations including Contact tithe Royal Exchange in Manchester . The Elevate Fund aims to increase the sustainability and resilience of arts organisations which contribute significantly to the Creative Case for Diversity.

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ After a year of hostility, Manchester Pride roars back with Trans Power.

Kate O’Donnell, founder of Trans Creative and a long-standing performer, host, and activist, is lighting up Manchester Pride 2025. From opening the Rally to headlining Freight Island’s House of MCR finale, she’s reminding us all: visibility is resistance, joy is defiance, Pride is where we dig deep for each other.

Says Kate: “We’re being legislated against… the rug’s being pulled out from under us… It’s where we remind each other that we belong, and we’re loved.”
