This is an early photo of the trams on Third Avenue opposite the Westinghouse main gate. They were crucial in transporting workers into the Park . If the Metrolink had followed the original plans in recent years we would have seen them return to Third Avenue , however they wanted to save six minutes on the journey to the Trafford Centre and Deansgate therefore the tram runs all along Village Way passing the Trafford Park Hotel but does turn into Third Avenue, it was designed to accommodate the tram hence the us a wide pavement opposite the shops to accommodate a platform.
