What a wonderful way to celebrate a Fresh Start.🧑

This week, we gathered at our Salford hub to mark a fresh start with good food, music, movies, and community. People from different backgrounds came together to share stories, build connections, and celebrate the strength that comes from belonging.

As this event took place during Refugee Week, it was also an opportunity to reflect on this year's theme of Courage. The courage to leave everything behind, the courage to start again, and the courage to welcome others.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. Together, we're building a community where everyone can feel safe, seen, valued, and supported.

πŸ’™ REFUGEE WEEK 2026 | COURAGE πŸ’™

When we think of courage, we often think of those who flee conflict, persecution, and hardship in search of safety. But courage also belongs to those who choose to welcome.

🏑 Courage is opening our hearts to people seeking sanctuary.

🀝 Courage is extending a hand of friendship to a stranger.

🌍 Courage is building bridges between cultures and communities.

πŸ’¬ Courage is standing against fear, prejudice, and division.

❀️ Courage is creating spaces where everyone feels valued, respected, and able to belong.

At Revive, we see courage every day in refugees rebuilding their lives and in the volunteers, neighbours, partners, and community members who walk alongside them on their journey.
Together, we can help people seeking sanctuary integrate into their new communities, build connections, develop confidence, and create brighter futures.

This Refugee Week, we asked members of our community one simple question:

"What does courage mean to you?" Here are some of their responses:

πŸ’™ "Courage is leaving everything behind to keep my children safe."

πŸ’™ "Courage is starting again when you don't know the language or the culture."

πŸ’™ "Courage is attending my first English class and speaking in front of others."

πŸ’™ "Courage is believing that tomorrow can be better than today."

πŸ’™ "Courage is asking for help when you need it."

πŸ’™ "Courage is not giving up on your dreams, even after difficult experiences."

πŸ’™ "Courage is smiling when life has been hard."

This Refugee Week, we celebrate the extraordinary courage of refugees, asylum seekers and everyone who chooses hope over fear and kindness over division.

Together, let's build communities where courage is recognised, voices are heard, and everyone is welcomed.

As part of Refugee Week, we asked some of the people we support at Revive:
"What does courage mean to you?" Their answers remind us that courage comes in many forms: Every day at Revive, we witness extraordinary courage in ordinary moments: learning, working, volunteering, parenting, studying, and building new lives. This Refugee Week, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and determination of refugees, asylum seekers, and all those seeking sanctuary. Together, let's recognise courage, champion hope, and create communities where everyone belongs.

Our ESOL learners and teachers had a fantastic day exploring the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester!
The trip provided a great opportunity to practice English in a real-life setting, learn about Manchester’s rich industrial heritage, and discover the innovations that have shaped our world. From interactive exhibits to fascinating stories of science, technology, and industry, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
These visits are about more than learning; they help build confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging within our community.
A huge thank you to our learners, teachers, and volunteers who made the day such a success!

Today, we had the pleasure of celebrating some of our incredible volunteers who attended our drop-in session.
Your kindness creates a welcoming space, your dedication strengthens our community, and your generosity changes lives in ways that often go unseen.

We see you!. We value you!. We appreciate you! 😍
