Bodies ofSalt and the Domestic - Colin Wilson

Wilson is a contemporary British photographer working in the ‘Still Life’ genre. For more than forty years he has worked with analogue black and white film and processes, specialising in large format photography and meticulously hand-printing his photographs. Wilson has exhibited widely throughout the UK and Europe and has work in public and private collections.

In Denis Diderot’s reflections on the paintings of Jean-Siméon Chardin in the Paris Salon of 1765, Diderot describes Chardin’s paintings as “…silent compositions.1” This experience; sensation; and contemplation in front of an artwork has occupied and guided my practice and my thoughts during the making of ‘slow photography’ for the last thirty years.

LIVING LANDSCAPE - FOREST AND FLORA by ANNE LEVER

"I paint from memory and try to capture the feeling I get from a landscape when an image has stopped me in my tracks. I try to capture this sensation in my work. The paintings record my experience not the reality.

This exhibition celebrates the landscape in particular the forests tress and plants that inhabit it. I hope the feeling I have for the natural world in all its extraordinary variety will be reflected in the work, from the woods of Cheshire where I live to the Cloud forests of Costa Rica, the Australian outback to the tulip fields of Holland and that I have been able to convey this feeling I have for the living world which we share."

All artwork is for sale (cash/card accepted).
Note: The Didsbury Parsonage Trust receive a 20% commission of total art sales, all of which goes straight back into The Didsbury Parsonage to preserve the building and sustain its community events and activities.
