Christmas may still feel a little way off, but we're already looking ahead to the festive season and would love your help! 🎄

As we start planning our festive content, we're looking for stories from families who have stayed in a Ronald McDonald House over the last few years. These stories help us show the real impact of keeping families close during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

We're particularly keen to hear from:

* Families who stayed in a House over the Christmas period
* Families whose siblings were able to stay together
* Families who can share how the House helped remove a practical worry during a difficult time
* Families from all regions and backgrounds

The stories shared may be featured across our website and social media channels, helping us highlight the importance of our Houses and the families we support.

If you have a story to share, or know a family who might be interested, please get in touch or email [email protected]

Thank you for helping us keep families at the heart of everything we do. ❤️

Look who came to see us! 💙

This week, the Browne family stopped by our House to say hello, and we were absolutely delighted to see them. Joy and Patrick, along with their two other children, stayed with us several times between 2019 and 2024. It was so wonderful to catch up and see just how well Nathan is doing now.

Seeing families return to visit reminds us why Ronald McDonald House Manchester is such a special place. Thank you, Joy, Patrick, and Nathan, for taking the time to pop in, come and visit us again soon! 🏡

As we recognize this September, we're thinking of the NICU families supported by Ronald McDonald House programs around the world ❤️

Families like baby Grayson's.

Grayson was born early at 33 weeks and needed immediate surgery and specialized care. For nearly a month while Grayson was in the NICU, his parents, Paige and Jordan, stayed just steps away at Ronald McDonald House Louisville

"Being at Ronald McDonald House allowed us to be with Grayson in the NICU as much as possible," Paige says. "It was the biggest blessing to us on our journey."

Last month, we said a fond farewell to our incredible Maintenance Worker, Tony. 💛

For more than 11 years, Tony has been a valued part of the Manchester House team. Through his hard work, kindness and dedication, he helped make our House a safe, welcoming and comfortable place for the families who stay with us.

Tony poured so much care into everything he did, and his friendly presence will be hugely missed by families, volunteers and colleagues alike.

Thank you, Tony, for all that you've done. We wish you a very happy and well-deserved retirement, filled with special moments with your family.

“The facility allowed us to stay focused on our son’s needs while still giving him the chance to enjoy being a child.” - The McHugh Vasquez Family

Jeremy, Jessica, and their three children stayed at Ronald McDonald House Atlanta for over 60 nights while their son participated in a feeding therapy program nearby.

When families can stay close, they can focus on what matters most: caring for and supporting one another throughout their child’s medical journey.

When you're navigating your child's medical journey, everyday activities like getting a haircut can fall to the bottom of the priority list.

At Ronald McDonald House Tampa Bay, Inc., Olivia and her team helped families get back-to-school ready with fresh haircuts. We're grateful to community members like Olivia who give back in meaningful ways, helping families feel supported and experience moments of normalcy during challenging times.

Once a Ronald McDonald House Family, always a Ronald McDonald House Family. ❤️

While Harlow and Hadley were in the NICU, the Rardon family found comfort and support at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Missouri. Now, the twins have made it a tradition to give back by volunteering at the House each year, even spending part of their birthday this year packing lunches and preparing a meal for families staying at the House.

Thank you, Harlow and Hadley!

For many families, the summer holidays mean days out, adventures and making memories together. But for families with a child in hospital, that's often not possible. Parents regularly tell us they feel guilty that brothers and sisters are missing out on the fun that summer usually brings.

That's why we host events throughout the holidays, giving families the chance to spend quality time together and enjoy moments of normality during an incredibly difficult time. 💙

This summer we've hosted football sessions with City in the Community, a Pirate & Princess party, a Teddy Bears' Picnic, a Toy Story party, Mario Kart competitions and more.

We're not quite finished yet 🎉

Join us today, Tuesday 25 August, for our Back to School Party from 1pm to 3pm in the Day Room. We hope you can make it!

At Ronald McDonald House, families can stay together and continue making memories along the way.

A record month!

In July, we welcomed a record 188 Day Pass visits to our Manchester House! ✨

This means that more families were able to access our facilities while their child was receiving treatment at hospital. Whether it was enjoying a home-cooked meal in our beautiful Day Room, taking a moment to relax in a comfortable and welcoming environment, getting some fresh air in the garden, or simply having access to shower and laundry facilities, these everyday essentials can make a huge difference during an incredibly difficult time.

While our facilities help families meet their basic needs, their impact goes far beyond that. They provide comfort, normality, dignity and a much-needed space to rest and recharge, while allowing families to stay close to their child when they need it most.

Every Day Pass visit represents a family receiving support exactly when they need it, and we're proud to be there for them. ❤️

Summer days call for a sweet treat! 🍦

When a child is receiving medical care, moments like sharing an ice cream, enjoying a summer activity, or simply spending time together can mean so much.

At Ronald McDonald House, families can hold onto these moments, all while staying close to the care their child needs.

“It is not just the House that provided us with a sense of home – it was the people,” says Shawna.

When the Roy family’s daughter, Carly, was in the NICU, her family stayed at Ronald McDonald House South Central Ontario, surrounded by a community of support while their daughter was receiving medical treatment.

For families like the Roys, Ronald McDonald House becomes more than a place to stay. It's a place of comfort and connection and a reminder that they’re not alone.

Thank You, Eva! 🌟

We were delighted to welcome Eva to our House recently as part of her school work placement programme.

During her three days with us, Eva embraced every task with enthusiasm, helping with daily duties, organising our stock room, chatting with families and even hosting a chocolate-making event.

Her positive attitude, confidence and willingness to help made a real impact, and it was a pleasure to have her as part of the team.

We wish Eva all the very best for the future and hope she gained plenty of valuable experience during her time with us.

Throughout July, members of our House team have been taking on our 79 Mile Mission, raising vital funds for Ronald McDonald House UK. 👟✨

From dog walks and countryside hikes to riverside runs, every mile has been inspired by the families we support and the importance of keeping them close to their seriously ill child while they receive treatment in hospital. ❤️

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and support we've received so far. As we approach the end of the month, we'd love one final push to help us raise as much as possible for our amazing charity.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue supporting families when they need it most.

We are incredibly fortunate to have outdoor space here at Ronald McDonald House Manchester. 🌳☀️

When a child is in hospital, the opportunity to get outside for some fresh air, exercise and a change of scenery can make a real difference. Whether it's shooting hoops, enjoying the sunshine, or simply having the chance to play and be a child for a little while, these moments of normality are so important.

Our outdoor spaces provide families with somewhere to relax, recharge and spend time together away from the hospital environment. They're also a wonderful place for children and young people to make new friends, share a laugh and create happy memories during a challenging time.

We'd like to say a huge 'thank you' to Aneeqa, who recently volunteered her time and professional hairdressing skills to provide free haircuts for families staying at Ronald McDonald House Manchester.

When a child is in hospital, everyday tasks can quickly become a challenge. Parents are often focused entirely on their child's care, spending long days on the ward and putting their own needs to one side.

A haircut may seem like a small thing, but it can make a big difference. Taking a little time for self-care can help parents feel refreshed, boost their confidence, and provide a welcome moment of normality during an incredibly difficult time.

Aneeqa's kindness and generosity brought plenty of smiles to our House, and our families were so grateful for this thoughtful treat.

Thank you, Aneeqa, for helping our families feel cared for and reminding them that their wellbeing matters too. ❤️
