⚔️ Our annual Morecombe show in Happy Mount Park approaches! ⚔️

Come see our members in all their finery and armour this weekend, and ask as many questions as you can conjure. We don't bite (unbidden), promise!

If you're local to the area and over 16 yrs, ask on the day how to get in touch with the group to take part in this brilliant hobby yourself in the future. If you have any nerdy historians or particularly athletic friends in mind who would be interested, please point them our way.

Rochdale Medieval Fayre offered a bustling living history encampment, a perfect example of what we all work towards throughout the year.

Set against the backdrop of the historic Rochadale town hall, we fought, lived, played, grinned, misbehaved and were found guilty all in just one weekend. Thank you to everyone who attended, spoke to us, and above all those who organised and made it possible. To hopefully more great shows here in the future! 🎉

Greystoke castle was such a joy! 🏰

It's well past now but our large annual event of 2026 was held near Penrith, and what an awesome show it was to experience. Thank you to all the officers, members and members of the public who made it special and ensured the long weekend ran smoothly.

We have another show coming up this weekend, significantly closer to home this time. Visit us in Rochdale on 6th and 7th June!

Our next show is local, taking place this weekend, and shaping up to be loads of fun! Drop by and see Historia Normannis Manchester in action in 's Rochdale Medieval Fayre.

Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th of June, you will find us spilling out into the streets around Rochdale Town Hall Square, brimming with enthusiasm and a healthy dose of bloodlust from 10am - 4:30pm. If you've ever popped into one of our craft or combat sessions and want to gain a better understanding of what it is that all our efforts work up to, there is no better opportunity than this!

Please note that the trams look like they won't be running to Rochdale this weekend, so please plan to travel by train, bus, bike or car accordingly. Or if you're feeling the theme of the day, maybe a noble steed is the choice for you 🐴⚔️

We had a brilliant time at Greystoke Castle this May Day weekend. If you visited us in Penrith, we were very glad to see you there! To all the groups from across the country who travelled up with us, it was a pleasure and a delight.

Historia Normannis will be performing at Ormskirk Medieval Festival this coming weekend! Pop down to meet our members, ask them questions about their displays, crafts and skill in combat, and maybe even get involved!

Introductions: day 1 of

We'll be posting through May to share a bit about what our group and our members get up to throughout the year. Today, we'd like to introduce ourselves.

Hello! Welcome to Historia Normannis's Manchester group, its lovely to meet you. We do all sorts of things as a 12th century living history group, including medieval crafts, combat reenactments, heritage shows, and social events.

We collaborate with and but we're open to students and non-students equally, and take on new people throughout the year! Every Tuesday and Sunday we do our weekly craft and combat sessions, and starting in April, we have hit our annual show season. You'll be able to find us travelling all around the country between now and September performing at a variety of historical events.

Follow along with our prompts this month and feel free to tag us in your posts. We'd love to spread the joy of this hobby further afield!

Back again for another year, welcome in !

This is our yearly challenge to make a post or story and share what you love about your medieval reenactment through the month of May.

Each day has a different theme which we'd love to hear about. In your posts, tag and and we'll do our best to feature some of your lovely contributions!

We find this challenge is a great way to share our beloved hobby, acknowledge the time, money, ane effort we put in, and celebrate all the friends and skills we've acquired along the way. The community of reenactors is a brilliant close knit one, and deserves its own recognition.
