Pride Sports is shocked and saddened to hear of the attack on CSD Berlin.

We have many friends amongst Berlin’s LGBTQ+ sports community and our thoughts are with them and everyone affected by the events of last night.

Prides have come under increasing attack in recent years, through negative rhetoric, funding withdrawal, bans, the removal of flags from public buildings and ultimately physical attacks.

This is the consequence of anti LGBTQ+ discrimination and hate.

We must never take Pride for granted.

Solidarity with LGBTQ+ people around the world. We must never stop in our efforts for equality and freedom.

Congratulations to on making number 17 on the .independent Pride List 2026. Natalie has volunteered for Pride Sports for over ten years as the lead for the Football v Transphobia campaign. She also provides advice on the inclusion of people in sport more generally and speaks globally on the subject. Natalie is currently also volunteering with us on 2027 💪🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

We’ve become the first UK signatory of the LGBTQ-inclusive Sports Charter ✍️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

✍️ EuroGames Cardiff 2027 has signed the Charter for Gender Diversity in Sports - we’re the first from the U.K. to so far take this pledge, joining around 25 sports clubs and associations from across Europe

Created by Berlin-based Seitenwechsel, the charter represents a commitment to create safer spaces; help break down barriers for trans, inters*x and non-binary people; and show that sport truly is for everyone. 🙌

Pride Sports is bitterly disappointed to see the IOC’s new policy on genetic testing in the female category and sees this as a significant attack on inclusive women’s sport.

Pride Sports believes the policy is scientifically flawed, unethical, undermining of human rights and harmful to women and girls.

🚨The SRY gene, which the test is hoping to identify in athletes, does not reliably indicate a person’s s*x
🚨No relationship between the SRY gene and athletic performance has ever been shown
🚨 Athletes who are forced to disclose private genetic information and return a positive test result, are likely to experience further highly invasive examinations
🚨 It is likely testing will be undertaken on children (the youngest athlete at Paris 2024 was 11 years old)
🚨 Privacy for impacted athletes cannot be guaranteed
🚨 Many countries have legislation that protect against genetic testing unless it is health-related or for medical research

🚨 Grassroots sports will be affected, with heightened scrutiny on women and girls who do not meet stereotypical definitions of femininity
🚨 No such testing is mandated in the male category
