We were happy to welcome Kirsty Powell and Georgia Lee from Next Energy UK to Cosy Mondays this week 💚🧡

Next Energy are our partners in the Warm Homes Energy Efficiency Programme, which aims to make up to 1,500 tenants’ homes warmer and cut their energy bills ☀️

Kirsty and Georgia said the session was a great opportunity to connect with residents in a relaxed and welcoming environment, creating space for open conversations, sharing experiences, and providing support around available services and opportunities.

At the heart of sessions like this is building trust, listening to what matters most to residents, and ensuring they feel empowered and informed 🤝

We’re looking forward to continuing this important work and building even stronger relationships within the community. ..

The programme will improve homes to an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of C. This means they will keep heat in better, use less energy, and be more environmentally friendly 💚

The upgrades being offered are funded by us and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority's Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund. They are being delivered by us and Next Energy in partnership with the GMCA.

We’ve got some exciting news to share with you today...

We’re in talks to merge with neighbouring housing association Wythenshawe Community Housing Group to create a new organisation later this year.

Benefits for residents and communities would include:
✅ increased investment in your homes
✅ better and quicker repairs
✅ building more affordable homes
✅ better housing and advice services
✅ more support with the rising cost of living
✅ better value for money

📣 Hear from our Chief Executive John Bowker, who would also be the Chief Executive of the new housing association if a merger happened.

We’ve written to all our residents about the news and you can have your say on the plans in the summer.

📞 Our Customer Hub will be closed for the Bank Holiday break for all but emergency calls from 5.30pm on Friday 22 May until 8am on Tuesday 26 May 📞

Our Customer Reception will also be closed from 3pm on Friday 1 May and will reopen at 9am on Tuesday 5 May.
