The JCCP has issued an important statement addressing the scope of practice for dental professionals performing non-surgical cosmetic procedures, including dermal fillers and botulinum toxins.
Developed in collaboration with the GDC, the statement clarifies:
✔ Non-surgical cosmetic procedures are not part of dentistry, but
✔ Dental professionals can extend their scope of practice where appropriately trained and competent, and
✔ they remain accountable to the GDC for their practice
