Our Creative Equinox Retreat, organised by our very own most fabulous Hannah Houghton, happend this weekend at the magical Fell Foot Wood.
It felt like the perfect time to think about balance in our own lives too, and about the shift into autumn.
Nature is starting to slow down, turn inward and get ready for winter. We know there’s many lessons learn from that. We don’t always have to be doing, pushing and producing. Sometimes we need to slow down, gather ourselves in, spend time with good people and make space for what we need.
And that’s exactly what we did.
We walked in the woods, foraged, made a beautiful natural mandala together, printed, painted and got stuck into all sorts of creative activities. We did life drawing in front of a roaring fire and ate gorgeous home-cooked vegan food all weekend.
This ancient woodland is magic, surrounded by its beauty, history and quiet wisdom. A huge thank you to Barry Houghton, the keeper of the woods, for looking after this special place and making it possible for us to gather here.
We also added more community art to the much-loved Feed the Sun caravan who has nourished many over the years, before we say goodbye to her. Everyone got involved, even the littlest ones.
One of my favourite things is the community that’s growing at Fell Foot Wood. It’s a co-creative space where people come together, make things, eat together, talk, laugh, cry, slow down and just be in a completely non judgemental space. It’s really really special.
I find great wisdom in working with the different seasons and cycles of nature, listening to her truths and knowing we are connected, it’s gorgeous to come together and celebrate that as a community. I’m actually living the dream, being able to come and do these creative events with like-minded people in the woods.
If you’ve never been to one of Hannah’s events, you really should come. They’re such a beautiful, welcoming and inspiring experience.......you will always come back.
Keep your eyes peeled for the next one.
