⚖️Today, five human rights organisations - FIDH - International Federation for Human Rights, JURDI, International Centre of Justice for Palestinians, LDH and Law for Palestine القانون من أجل فلسطين - filed a landmark case before France's highest administrative court, the Conseil d'État, challenging France’s failure to prevent companies and financial institutions under its jurisdiction from contributing to Israel's unlawful occupation of the occupied Palestinian territory.

The organisations are advised by Open Society Justice Initiative.

The case raises a key question: Which measures must states implement to ensure that companies comply with international law?

NEW REPORT: Global Echo analysed more than 5,000 shipments of Israeli agricultural products exported to the EU. It found that 1 in 5 shipments contained products originating from illegal Israeli settlements, raising serious questions about compliance with existing European regulations. The report reveals that settlement products continue to benefit from tax preferences, certifications and market access that should not apply to them. States have an obligation not to assist in maintaining Israel’s illegal occupation and settlement enterprise. Current EU policies and practices are inconsistent with that obligation.

UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese has presented her latest report to the Human Rights Council. It documents Israel’s systematic use of torture against Palestinians since October 2023, showing that it is not incidental or sporadic but part of a wider system of domination, collective punishment, and annihilatory violence, embedded in the architecture of settler-colonialism and the ongoing genocide.
