EROTÆME × Another Sky

A one day programme of workshop and concert in collaboration with Another Sky, a London based festival exploring experimental music from the SWANA region and diaspora.

An afternoon session on how artists sustain their work while navigating institutions, independence and personal values, led by Olivia Melkonian and Sherif Dhaimish.

In the evening, Khabat Abas, Artist in Residence, presents new work for a 2026 commission, joined by Hardi Kurda.

Khabat Abas خەبات عەباس is a cellist and interdisciplinary artist from Kurdistan, working across sound, performance and installation, exploring time, memory and material.

Hardi Kurda هەردی کوردە is a sound artist, violinist and researcher, working across composition, improvisation and sonic archiving.

Eroteme opens 2026 with a duo performance by Anne-F Jacques & Ryoko Akama.

Anne-F Jacques is a Montreal-based sound artist working with amplification, erratic devices, and oblique material interactions. She builds custom sound-making objects from small motors, found materials, and discarded parts, using contact microphones and minimal amplification to generate unstable textures and unexpected rhythms. Anne-F previously performed for Eroteme in 2022, and the duo’s performance at AME in Huddersfield the same year was a highlight of that season.

Ryoko Akama is a Japanese-Korean artist based in Huddersfield, working across installation, performance, and composition. Her site-specific works transform domestic appliances and scrap materials into kinetic systems shaped by heat, magnetism, gravity, and silence, collapsing sound and image into a single fragile situation.

The evening opens with Karl D’Silva (solo saxophone), a local favourite. Further details to follow.
