Everything is beginning to pop at the plot... Today we picked our first strawberries to share with Emmeline's Woodland Crew.

There is one place in the plot that has remained completely untouched for the last few weeks... To allow our beautiful robin family a safe and tranquil space to grow.

Welcome to the Pankhurst Plot 🪺

At today's Luncheon Club, we trimmed and edged bed borders making more clearly defined room for the newly planted squash.

The sage has become very comfy over the years and taken over a large space with a lot of woody, leggy branches. We cleared debris, pruned and reduced... We'll take a look at how it responds over the coming weeks.

We also planted out six different varieties of leaves... Lollo Rossa, Radicchio, Romaine, Little Gem, Butterhead, Salad Bowl... to join the already established Chard. These will make great salad bouquets for the service users of Emmeline's Pantry.

And we found a glorious revelation in the undergrowth of one overgrown bed... Apple Sorrel: A prized, gourmet herb with a punchy, lemon taste. Great in salads; as a microgreen with rich cheeses; to add a tangy zest to fish sauces.

This is a community space - come and join us... You'd be very welcome!
