For all those women live music promoters out there in live that bring sometimes a different way of approaching live, we salute you for working like a woman, as women in the industry, we have barriers that, on top of the challenges the industry already brings (that we all face) means we have to work hard to remain in the industry.

It is through our own determination to have a voice in the industry, to help break down barriers through other people already in the industry (you know who you are), to keep it in check, and to never forget that equality and women’s voices have a seat at the table.

The theme for this year’s IWD is “Give to Gain.”
Give To Gain emphasises the power of reciprocity and support. When people, organisations, and communities give generously, opportunities and support for women increase. Giving is not a subtraction; it’s intentional multiplication. When women thrive, we all rise.

Whether through donations, knowledge, resources, infrastructure, visibility, advocacy, education, training, mentoring, or time, contributing to women’s advancement helps create a more supportive and interconnected world.

What will you Give to Gain gender equality?

Season’s Greetings from AIP!

As we wrap up the year, we want to say a huge thank you to our members, partners and supporters for being part of AIP in 2025.

This year we’ve seen:
✨ 70% membership growth
✨ A new expanded AIP board
✨ The launch of the AIP Report and Diversity Database
✨ Training, mentoring and wellbeing support for independent promoters across the UK.

None of this would have been possible without your support, collaboration and belief in the vital role of independent promoters.

We’re excited for what’s ahead in 2026, with new resources, continued training and more opportunities to connect, share skills and grow together.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a succesful start to the New Year.

Parliamentary Inquiry: UK Live Music Industry

The UK Parliament has launched an inquiry into competition and market functioning in the live music industry, inviting written evidence until 23 January.

The inquiry will examine market characteristics and trends that may be harming fair competition, an especially important opportunity for promoters whose work or businesses have been affected by larger companies or multi-nationals taking shows off them.

Find out more/submit your written evidence here: https://committees.parliament.uk/call-for-evidence/3799/

A huge thank you to Un-Convention for an inspiring few days in Manchester!

The 114th edition once again proved why it’s such an essential gathering for the grassroots and independent live community, bringing early-career and established promoters together from across the UK to share ideas, build networks and spark practical solutions.
AIP had an incredibly positive conference:

40+ promoters joined our AIP Social, brilliantly supported by Chris from Hey! Manchester on the door. We welcomed promoters from Manchester, Chester, Lancaster, Bradford, York and beyond—opening up valuable conversations and strengthening regional connections.

15+ new sign-ups from promoters keen to join AIP and become part of our growing national network.

Our panel discussions highlighted a crucial takeaway:
For grassroots live music to thrive, we need clearer data that separates the grassroots ecosystem from the wider large-scale live industry. This will help better represent regional realities and support underrepresented areas that are regularly missed off touring maps.

The conference was also a chance to further strengthen AIP’s relationships with sector partners including and others working to improve conditions for independent promoters.

Thanks again to the team and event partners PRS Foundation and , plus venue hosts , as well as everyone who joined us throughout. Let’s keep creating energising spaces for the grassroots to connect, collaborate and push the live sector forward.

Big news!

We are proud to announce the launch of the AIP Diversity Database, the first national resource of its kind celebrating and spotlighting the full spectrum of live music promoters across the UK.

From promoters who identify as women and non-binary to those who are LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse, d/Deaf or disabled, and/or from ethnically diverse backgrounds, this database showcases the breadth of talent driving live music events forward.

Developed by the AIP in partnership with leading industry organisations, it’s designed to help venues, agents, artists, and bookers connect with a wider range of promoters and build a further inclusive live music scene.

💡 This is a live, evolving resource that will continue to grow and improve over time. We recognise that identity is personal and complex, so we’ve chosen not to categorise individuals, respecting how people wish to self-identify and the many ways diversity is expressed.

👉 Explore the database, discover new voices shaping the future of live music. Link in bio / AIP website 🔗 Live at 12 noon 7-11-26

👉 Promoters: If you’re UK-based and identify as diverse/from the groups listed above, sign up now to join this pioneering community. Link in bio on Instagram 🔗. Partners:
