Community Work
We believe that one of the most valuable things we can do is to build outreach programs empower disenfranchised people to cultivate healthy and fruitful lives. The British Muslim Heritage Centre does as much work to enrich communities as we are able, we're trying to tackle Islamophobia in the hopes that younger generations will not have to suffer as older generations have in the past, but we are not exclusively here for Muslims, we are here for each and every member of our community; all religions, all races. We run youth activities to keep young people active and social (lock-down has inhibited our ability to run certain programs). Health programs (including webinars on diabetes and Covid 19). Women's programs, uplifting and supporting women and creating discussion about the aspirations of women. We recently refurbished our centre and are using our spare rooms to house homeless people during these extremely difficult times. Podcasts
In this faith inspired podcast we'll break down national and global issues, talking about the most important issues we face at home and around the world. The mainstream media has a long history of running divisive and sensationalist news which can often be toxic, we'll be using our media arms to deliver a sincere perspective, leading to mutual understanding and a healthier society. We'll be producing short films which we hope will inspire communities to come together as we create a bridge of understanding between Islamic communities and the western world. Radio
Our radio show is the first Muslim station on air in the UK. Broadcasting from our studios in the heart of the renowned BMHC. Giving the British Muslim community a voice.
