Our October meeting on Thursday 8th will see us welcome member Steph and her husband talk to us about the art of arranging music and treat us to some live performances. Visitors welcome.

"The art of musical arrangement: why rearrange a pop song for string quartet, or a jazz standard for symphony orchestra? What is so special about the original version of a piece of music? Explanations and examples given through live performances."

We 💜 WI Day

We’re celebrating 111 years of the WI this September with the colour purple. It's the colour of the Suffragettes, and in colour therapy it symbolises loyalty, creativity and wisdom - values which are very WI!

Look out for women wearing purple today!

We will be welcoming Chris o’ Grady back this evening. He will be telling us the story about how one man with four pairs of underpants walked the 2,000 kilometres between Pershore & Rome and about the extraordinary kindness of strangers.
The meeting starts at 7:30

Following our June meeting which involved demonstrations of walking rugby training, walking rounders and a horse racing game. All of which had to take place indoors due to the rain. Members of West Malvern WI are looking forward to their July meeting on the 9th; the traditional swim & chips. This year with a twist as to celebrate our 15th anniversary there may be some fizz involved!

At our meeting tonight our new President Jan had to think on her feet when we heard our planned speaker had cancelled. After hearing about planned events we heard from our intrepid member, Judy who just the day before had completed a wing walk to raise money for the Worcester Breast Unit Haven.
In a Q&A session we heard about the preparation involved, how to climb up onto the top wing and what it felt like to be flying at 100mph in high winds. There were many questions from members too. EDIT 14/5/26 We have just heard Kerenza is unable to join us this evening. However, not to worry as member, Judy Nokes will be telling us all about her recent fundraiser for Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven. More details later!

At our May meeting on Thursday 14th, we will be welcoming Kerenza Faram who will be delivering a talk entitled “Fight back against the scammers!”

Join us to hear expert fraud analyst Kerenza Faram discuss various different types of scams to which people often fall victim; learn what to look out for, and how to protect yourself and your vulnerable loved ones.

A free fraud pack will be available both electronically and in hard copy, which contains more in-depth information on common scams, protection tips, where to report to and how to potentially get your money back if you have been scammed.

Well we sipped and sowed and managed all the business of our Annual Meeting under the guidance of WFWI Federation Chair Helen Stark. We thanked 3 retiring committee members and welcomed 2 new members to the committee. We also welcomed a visitor from Boston USA and 2 new members. We must be doing something right.

We are founding members of Walking Rugby at Malvern which was initially set up as part of the Rugby World Cup Impact 25 programme, a collaboration between England Rugby and the WI. The new season is about to start so why not give it a try! Everyone is welcome and why not bring a friend!

Our April Meeting is on the 9th April at 7:30pm when members will be Sipping & Sowing. We will be sharing pots and seeds and choose what we would like to sow. We will also have the opportunity to make wildflower seed bombs all while listening to a 'flowery' playlist and enjoying our choice of drink to sip on.

Our March members’ meeting is on Thursday 12th when we will be hearing from Jacquie from Worcester Breast Unit Haven. They were seeking Worcestershire WIs to support them for 2026 and we think this could be a lovely thing for us. Jacquie will give us some information on the charity and its positive impact.
Thinking hats at the ready to suggest things we might like to do at meetings or beyond to support them.
