MALTBY 10K
( floating ideas)
An interesting suggestion was put to us by one of our followers about bringing back the Maltby 10k and even offered sponsorship .
Interested to know what people think .
Is this something Maltby Running club could help with ?
I certainly think it would help putting our town on the map and bring in trade for local businesses.

THINKING BACK TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS
Many of us will remember the Miners Gala and everything associated with it from sports events running ,5 aside football donkey derby tug of war . Stalls beer tent and much more . These events brought the community together and werea key event on the calendar. Whilst many of us put just short of £95 into the coffers we dont get much back . As rate payers put thousands into the sports ground ( not against) . Could the sports ground be at least used to a degree by everyone to hold such an event . Whilst previous events have failed as we have council lacking leadership .
Yes have had the odd event one a couple of years ago with live music.
Imagine having an event that brings kids adults businesses together to make Maltby Great . When u look at places like braithwell and the events they host they put us to shame .
I suppose im dreaming because our ancient council lack the drive to do it .
But been as they love to control its unlikely they will let others try

DONT SPOIL OUR COUNTRYSIDE
Over the last few days out walking in some of our fantastic walks we have on our doorstep its become more noticeable how people disrespect our countryside . The walks and beauty we have around maltby are something we can all enjoy .
The main items are plastic bottles that will never rot . If you can carry a full one with you im sure u can take an empty one home . One day it will be too late and we will have nothing left . Respect our countryside and others and make it better for everyone

AVOID BRAITHWELL
Chaos seems to be the norm with traffic management. Drivers are being left confused with which way to go with roads closed in most directions . It will be chaos when the rush hour starts . No thought no warning no planning. So id avoid if u can

TODAYS FOCUS PLACES TO EAT
IN MALTBY
Maltby has a vast array of Cafes and eateries spread throughout our town
Whilst we intend to high light as many as possible in the coming days .
Todays 3 are are
BLOOM Situated opposite Tescos . Although still relatively new bloom is a trendy and stylish cafe /bar offering very pleasant surrounds. It offers not only a place to enjoy a cuppa but the opportunity to enjoy a little tipple.
Well worth a visit.
NANA FLOWS A family run cafe with range of meals from full english to more traditional dishes for lunch . Especially popular with commuters and shoppers with its close proximity to the bus stop and toffs car park . Pop along for great food and a friendly atmosphere
GAFFERS CAFE A New addition to our high street A spacious venue Offering both an extensive breakfast and lunch menu with notable presentation. Based behind the Queens corner bus stop which is convenient for commuters and shoppers alike .

FLYING THE FLAGS
Having posted about the flying of the flags a few weeks ago i was contacted by a reporter on my view .
I am sure this was attempt to paint this as racism.
I agreed to answer the 3 questions put to me . Q1 why is raising the flags important
Answer By raising the flags it shows we are strong as a community and are proud of our heritage. All societies through history have made mistakes and as a nation we have evolved and
If the country is so bad why do so many want to come here?
Q2 What would u say to people who say they are scared of the flags
Answer People saying they are scared of the flags is a narrative used by some to claim racism . When in fact we have local businesses from various ethnic groups who we live side by side some of which have been seen flying the Union Jack.
Its actually people in our communities who live in fear of those who seem to have a problem with our flag being flown and integrating into society . It seems ok for other groups to raise their flags but when it comes to raising our flag it some want to make it an issue .
Q3 what do you think of rmbc offering groups £500 towards flags
Answer regarding rmbc offering £500 its because they fear the backlash at the next elections if they turn on the voters.It was only recently they wanted to rip them down . However nothing was required as the community has been strong in funding it ourselves.
They asked if i wanted my name or afm putting
Reply i said put AFM as i live in fear for my family
Standing up for whats right doesnt make me racist . I have never attacked anyone because of the colour of their skin or religion . But will fight for my family my town and my country

MORE FAILURES BY RMBC
The new indoor market/ library total cost £47 million is to cost the rate payers including those of MALTBY an additional £6 million due to Rmbc failing to cost the project correctly. Im sure the councillors would be a bit more careful managing their own money . But its not and should be mindful of what £6 million could make in communities like Maltby .

FLYING THE FLAGS
I would like to thank the fantastic efforts of Carl Spit and the lads for their fantastic effort in raising the flags in Maltby . Who cares if some are wrong . Whats more important we have our flag flying high and proud . Those that choose to be petty are only doing so as they were probably dropped on their heads at birth and never recovered . But dont worry the hard working patriots will defend the country from evil

LOCAL BUS SERVICE
We have been contacted by some frustrated commuters who say the local bus service has deteriorated .
We would like the views of people who use the buses . Is this happening on a regular basis?have things got worse under SYMA . Has this created issues with work etc ?

MALTBY IS ONE
Despite our our mp and maltby town council dividing our town . Its my belief maltby is one town and should be treated as such. They say its not political but i have no doubt thats the reason
