5th Rotherham - Maltby Scouts We are one of the fastest growing Scout groups in the Rotherham District.

Each week, young people from 4 to 14 years old in the local area join us to experience everyday adventure by making friends, learning new skills, having fun, and making memories.

What an absolute blast Maltby Scouts have had at Poacher 2026! 🏕️🔥

A huge well done to all our young people who took part — you have made every single one of your leaders incredibly proud. ❤️

You have shown resilience, stamina, determination and teamwork throughout the whole camp. You’ve pushed yourselves, tried new things, supported each other and made memories that will stay with you for years to come.

We have watched you grow in confidence, overcome challenges, get absolutely soaked 😂, get very tired, and still get back up and do it all again!

You have been an absolute credit to Maltby Scouts, your families and yourselves. 👏🏻

And of course, a massive THANK YOU to our amazing leaders who have given up their own time, holidays and weekends to make this experience possible. Without your dedication, hard work and commitment, none of this could happen.

Poacher 2026

All the kids are fed, watered, and have been sent off to their activities. They’re all doing an amazing job and having a fantastic time!

They’re definitely starting to look a little tired now… 🤣🤣 I wonder why!

I actually managed to have a walk around yesterday and take in some of the activities without needing a ticket, and I have to say, they were absolutely incredible.

One of our young people even won a hat at the clay pigeon shooting – very impressive indeed! 👏

I headed out to take some photos, but only managed to see 6 rug rats on my travels were this lot! 😂

Well done to all the cubs that attend Manvers Lake this evening, everyone of them got into the water.

We learnt about the dangers of swimming/jumping into open water and what we should do if we find ourselves in danger, learnt how to throw a safety rope correctly. They then all went into the open water and learnt how to float while help came along. Finished off by jump off a board.
Think some off the cubs were a little shock how different it was from there swimming lesson.
Then following week went to Rother Valley to do water sports
