Not only has he recently completed the Paris Marathon, but on the weekend of his Birthday Arwyn Jones has been celebrating with family and friends at Erddig Park Run.

I’m not saying how old he is but the balloon might give it away 🤣

At our most recent Lodge meeting we were treated to a lively “Q & A” session delving into the First Degree ceremony. Whilst a demonstration of the ceremony took place, Adam Abram posed those questions that many of us have pondered with Steve Farmer providing answers and explanations of what it actually means and historic significance.

With guests and visitors attending from within Cheshire and North Wales Provinces this proved to be a very enjoyable and enlightening meeting followed by an excellent festive board.

A great start to the Masonic year at St Oswalds Lodge as we welcome Christopher Hegarty as a new Entered Apprentice Freemason. Following an excellent First Degree ceremony Christopher had the opportunity to meet and get to know other members of the Lodge at a very lively and fun festive board.

Our Charity Steward Simon Povey had the opportunity to spend some time with the Adult Volunteers and Cadets of 617 Heber Squadron - RAFAC this week. As a former Air Cadet and Adult Volunteer it was a great opportunity to bring together two local organisations, sharing knowledge and experience to understand how we might be able to work together in the future.

Members of St Oswalds Lodge and our guests enjoyed the festivities this evening with a sumptuous Turkey dinner, Christmas pudding, fine cheeses and Port after our normal Lodge meeting. Guests included wives and partners, family members and some prospective new members who all had a very enjoyable Christmas singalong.

As always, at the end of the evening the Lodge furniture has to be packed away, a real test of team work especially rolling up the carpet!
