Annually, each Masonic lodge elects and installs its Worshipful Master to lead and preside over the lodge for the forthcoming year. St Oswalds Lodge is no exception and we are pleased to announce that Dennis Jones has been installed as Worshipful Master in a ceremony attended by Lodge members, honoured guests from Province of Cheshire Freemasons and supportive visitors from other lodges.

During his speech at the Festive Board, Dennis thanked the outgoing Master, Andy Davies and committed to working together with the members to continue to grow membership and support local charities and good causes.

The festive board gave opportunity for a rousing rendition of The Masters’ Song led by Mike Shiels the representative of the Provincial Grand Master.

We are all looking forward to a great year under Dennis’s stewardship.

If you are reading this and not currently a Freemason or an existing mason but not a member of St Oswalds Lodge and would like to know more, drop us a message or email [email protected]

Who says you can’t be fit and have fun as you reach a more mature age?!
Not only has he recently completed the Paris Marathon, but on the weekend of his Birthday Arwyn Jones has been celebrating with family and friends at Erddig Park Run.

I’m not saying how old he is but the balloon might give it away 🤣

Happy Birthday for tomorrow AJ 🥳

Our very own Arwyn Jones is heading to Paris this weekend to run the Marathon de Paris on Sunday. Please join us in sending plenty of support and well wishes, he is raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK and we know that he will smash it.

You can still donate to support his endeavours and raise some money for this worthy charity

At our most recent Lodge meeting we were treated to a lively “Q & A” session delving into the First Degree ceremony. Whilst a demonstration of the ceremony took place, Adam Abram posed those questions that many of us have pondered with Steve Farmer providing answers and explanations of what it actually means and historic significance.

With guests and visitors attending from within Cheshire and North Wales Provinces this proved to be a very enjoyable and enlightening meeting followed by an excellent festive board.

Whilst we’re on the subject of running, let’s not forget that our very own Arwyn Jones is training to tackle the Paris Marathon to raise funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.

The below link will allow you to access his fundraising page for this very worthy charity.

We’re right behind you Arwyn, well about 26 miles behind you actually…keep on running 😃

In April 2026, I’ll be taking on the challenge of running the Schneider Electric Paris Marathon, all 26.2 miles of it!! This isn't just a personal challenge, I'm running to help raise funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK. My Dad was diagnosed with it in 2007 but thanks to early detection and...

Being a Freemason isn’t just about wearing suits, taking part in ceremonies and eating great food…this morning two of our members caught up (literally) at one of our local Parkruns 😃

Well done Tim Dobson Simon Povey, keep running!

A great start to the Masonic year at St Oswalds Lodge as we welcome Christopher Hegarty as a new Entered Apprentice Freemason. Following an excellent First Degree ceremony Christopher had the opportunity to meet and get to know other members of the Lodge at a very lively and fun festive board.

Welcome Christopher, we hope that you enjoy a long and fulfilling time as a member of St Oswalds Lodge and as Province of Cheshire Freemasons newest member!

Our Charity Steward Simon Povey had the opportunity to spend some time with the Adult Volunteers and Cadets of 617 Heber Squadron - RAFAC this week. As a former Air Cadet and Adult Volunteer it was a great opportunity to bring together two local organisations, sharing knowledge and experience to understand how we might be able to work together in the future.
