A Write Highland Hoolie is Scotland’s friendliest book festival. Guests describe the Hoolie as, ‘great craic’.

It combines literature, poetry and music under one roof in a unique immersive, unforgettable weekend of fun, friendship and fine food. 2022 is our seventh year of holding a Book Festival in Mallaig. It takes place at the West Highland Hotel, Mallaig, from late afternoon on Friday November 11th - late afternoon Sunday November 13th. We've been blown away by how quickly West Highland Hotel Mallaig is booking up for this year's Hoolie! Only a very small number of rooms remain, so if you're interested in booking, we advise that you do so without delay by contacting the hotel - telephone 01687 462210 or email [email protected]. Please remember that accommodation for the Hoolie weekend CANNOT be booked online.

We're delighted to announce that West Highland Hotel Mallaig is now taking bookings for this year's A Write Highland Hoolie over the weekend of November 6-8.

Please remember that accommodation for the Hoolie weekend CANNOT be booked online. Instead, please contact the hotel by telephone on 01687 462210 or email [email protected].

As this is our tenth anniversary year we're expecting demand to be high, so booking early to avoid disappointment is strongly advised.

Full details of this year's festival programme will be released later this month. We're looking forward to seeing you in Mallaig this November!

We've been a little quiet of late, but that's because we're busy working away in the background on plans for this year's Hoolie!
