This Thursday is a BIG one at Hub on the Hill, and we’re so excited to welcome not one, but TWO new services to our Helping Hub! 🥰🙌🏼

Our Helping Hub has always been about making it easier to find the right support, advice and information — all under one roof, in a friendly, welcoming environment. And it’s growing! 💛

✨ NEW THIS THURSDAY — DINA FROM MALDON CITIZENS ADVICE ✨

Dina will be joining us to offer free, confidential and impartial advice on all sorts of everyday issues, including:
🏠 Housing
💷 Debt
💰 Benefits
💼 Employment
…and much more.
Not sure whether they can help? Ask the question! And if they can’t help, they’ll help you find someone who can. 💚

✨ ALSO JOINING US — LISA FROM ACTION FOR FAMILY CARERS ✨

Lisa will be here to talk about the support available to unpaid carers across Essex.
Action for Family Carers supports thousands of carers every year with practical and emotional support, including information and advice, counselling, peer support, grants, young carer services and much more.
Lisa will also be telling us about their Day Care Centre, where older people — including those living with dementia or memory loss, as well as people who may be isolated at home — can enjoy stimulating activities and social interaction in a safe and welcoming environment, while their carers get the opportunity to have a much-needed break. 💜

And that’s not all…

⚡ JOHN FROM COMMUNITY ENERGY PATHWAYS will be back with advice and support around energy and keeping those household costs down.

💼 TONY FROM DWP will also be joining us to help with questions around work, benefits and employment.

🍽️ AND… SARK TURKISH & MEDITERRANEAN RESTAURANT ARE BACK! 🎉
( cor we really are spoiling you at this point! 😉)

The lovely Sark team will be joining us again and bringing along some of their delicious Turkish & Mediterranean dishes for everyone to enjoy. 😋

🎉 TOMORROW AT THE HUB! 🎉

……Well… it’s nearly time! 👀
Jelly Kelly’s Kids Club is joining us at Hub on the Hill TOMORROW! 🥳💛

With the school holidays over, we know lots of children are back into their usual routines — but if your child is pre school age, home educated, not currently in school, or simply fancies coming along for some extra fun, they’re very welcome too! Suitable for all ages 🌈

We know from experience that finding welcoming, relaxed places for home-ed children to meet, play and socialise can be really valuable, so we’d love to see some of our home-ed families joining us tomorrow! ❤️

And while the kids have some fun, there’s
plenty happening for the grown-ups too…

🌈 JELLY KELLY’S KIDS CLUB IS AT THE HUB THIS THURSDAY!!!🌈

The school holidays may be over, but we know that not every child has gone back to school — and that’s exactly why we’d love to spread the word about Jelly Kelly’s! 💛

This Thursday, the wonderful Kelly from Jelly Kelly’s Kids Club will be joining us alongside our usual Hub session, with jungle themed fun, play, crafts and activities for little ones to enjoy! 🎨🧸✨

It’s a great fit for:

👶 Pre-school children who aren’t at school yet
🎨 Home-educated children
🧸 Children who love getting out, playing and meeting new people
💛 Families looking for a friendly, relaxed community space

🤗And we’d particularly love to connect with Maldon’s thriving home-education community! 🤗

💚Home education is something close to the heart of the Hub too — one of our Hubster team home educated her own son, so we understand that finding welcoming opportunities for children to socialise, make friends and simply spend time together outside of a traditional school setting can be really important! 💚

Meanwhile, the usual Hub session will be in full swing, with our warm welcome, plenty of friendly faces and, of course, food! ☕️🥰
🍳 This Thursday we’ll be serving bacon & sausage rolls, with gluten-free and vegan options available too. 🌱

There’ll also be hot drinks and cold drinks, plenty of chat and a chance for grown-ups to relax while the little ones enjoy Jelly Kelly’s! 💛

🚨 9/9/2026 Emergency Services Day 🚒🚑🚓🛟

🫶Today we are taking a chance to pause and say thank you to the people who are there when we need them most. 🫶

Yesterday was emergency services day, as we have no Hub on today we felt it important to reflect on something important to us….

💚To the firefighters, paramedics, police officers, coastguard teams, lifeboat crews and all the incredible volunteers and staff who respond when someone needs help, Thank you 🫶💚

Often, they meet people at their most frightened, vulnerable or desperate.
And yet, when that call comes, they don't stop to decide whether someone is worthy of their help…..

They simply help. 🫶

A person in the water is a person in the water.

A person in danger is a person in danger.

A person who needs saving is a person who needs saving.

That is what makes their work so extraordinary.💚

🫶At Hub on the Hill, we believe strongly in looking after one another and creating a community where people feel welcomed, supported and valued.🫶

💚So today, we celebrate those who live that principle every. single. day — often putting themselves in harm's way to protect someone they've never even met. 💚

To EVERY emergency service worker, EVERY volunteer and EVERY person who answers that call:

❤️THANK YOU for showing us what courage, compassion and humanity look like. ❤️

💚 IT’S THURSDAY AGAIN! 💚

We thought we’d ask one of our Hubsters what happens on a Thursday…

Max’s answer?

“We work.” 😂👌

Where do we work?

“Hub on the hill!” 🙌🏼

And what do we like about the Hub?

Apparently… breakfast and hot drinks! ☕️🥓😂

We might be biased, but we think Max has absolutely nailed it!!! ❤️

There’s food, hot drinks, plenty of chatting, colouring, crafts and, most importantly, a friendly place where everyone can feel comfortable and part of the Hub. 🥰☺️

Max is sporting his very official Volunteer lanyard while getting stuck into our craft area — because obviously every workplace needs a member of staff doing a bit of colouring on the job! 😉🎨

We love our Hubsters, and we love that everyone finds their own little place here. 💚

The kids are back at school, the summer holidays are officially over… and we’ve got HOT CROSS BUNS! 😂🍞

Yes, we know it’s September… but quite frankly, we make our own rules at the Hub! 😍

Come along to Hub on the Hill tomorrow — Thursday 3rd September — for a cuppa, a catch-up, a hot cross bun (with gluten-free and dairy-free options available) and a good old natter with our wonderful Hubsters! ❤️
