Eco-Friendly Fundraising: Clear Out Your Wardrobes for St Francis Catholic Primary School! 🌍👕

It’s time for a wardrobe clear-out! We are teaming up with The Little Recyclers to raise vital funds for our school. Every kilogram of clothing donated helps us generate funds to support our children—every single bag makes a difference!

When: Wednesday, 21 October
Drop-off time: Before 9:00 AM on Wednesday morning
Where: In front of the gates on the school driveway

What can you donate?
Good quality clean clothing (adults', children's, and baby clothes)
Paired shoes, bags, hats, and scarves
Belts, fashion accessories, swimwear, and lingerie
Jewellery and perfumes

Please note: We cannot accept school uniforms, duvets, pillows, single shoes, or damaged/wet items.

Simply fill any bags you have with your unwanted items and drop them off at the gates before 9:00 AM. Thank you so much for your continued support in helping us raise funds for the school! 💚

With just 2 days to go until The Big School Dash & Stride Challenge, we are so excited to reveal our official finisher stickers! 👟✨

Every child who completes their 1km stride or 2.6km Mini-Marathon on Monday will get one of these brilliant stickers to take home! 🏅

🏆 FRIDAY LEADERBOARD UPDATE! 🏆 (As of 2 October, 9am)
With just 3 days to go until The Big School Dash & Stride Challenge this Monday 5th October, we have had a huge shake-up on the leaderboard! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️Check out who is sitting in the top 3 spots as we head into the weekend:
🥇 1st Place: Year 3 holds the lead with an amazing £345!
🥈 2nd Place: Year 2 has zoomed into 2nd place with £140!
🥉 3rd Place: Reception is right behind in 3rd place with £115!

But remember, the final standings are far from decided, and any class can take the top spot over the weekend! 🍕🎉

🏆 TUESDAY’S LEADERBOARD IS HERE! 🏆 (Updated as of 29 September, 8am)

The race is well and truly on as we approach The Big School Dash & Stride Challenge this Monday 5th October!

A massive well done to all classes for their incredible fundraising efforts so far. The totals are climbing, and it’s getting very exciting! Remember, every pound raised supports the purchase of new maths equipment and essential air conditioning units across the school.

Check out the current standings below, but remember, things can change very quickly with just a few more donations!

🥇 Year 3 is holding strong in 1st Place with a massive £265 raised!
🥈 Reception is currently in 2nd Place with £95
🥉 Year 2 is close behind in 3rd Place with £75

To keep this supportive and inclusive, sponsorship is collected per class. Whichever class raises the most overall wins that highly anticipated SPECIAL CLASS LUNCH, brought in just for them! Can another class catch up and steal the lead before Monday? 🍕🎉

🪩 Disco done… now it’s time to Dash & Stride! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Huge thanks to everyone who came to the Back to School Disco! Next up: The Big School Dash & Stride Challenge on Monday 5th October! 🗓️

Every child will be running or walking on the school field with their class to help raise funds for new maths equipment 🔢 and air conditioning units ❄️ across the school.

🏆 THE CLASS BATTLE IS ON!
Sponsorship is collected per class, and the class that raises the most overall wins a SPECIAL CLASS LUNCH brought in just for them! You can see from the leaderboard the race is well and truly on! Can Year 3 or Year 2 overtake Reception, or will another class steal the lead?! 🍕🎉

☕ Woohoo! Coffee Mama's First Visit is Tomorrow! ☕

We are SO excited to welcome Coffee Mama to St Francis for the very first time tomorrow morning! 🥳

She will be set up and ready to go from 7:30 AM, so she’s perfectly timed for staff, early birds, and parents dropping off at Breakfast Club to get that essential morning caffeine fix.

❤️ A Very Special Friday Coffee Morning for Macmillan
Tomorrow is extra special as we are starting our regular Friday coffee mornings by supporting the Macmillan Coffee Morning! 🟢🤍

The PTA is run and supported by many individuals who have been personally impacted by cancer, and we know firsthand what wonderful services Macmillan provides.

To show our support:
🍰 We will have a selection of delicious cakes available.
🍯 There will be an honesty pot for donations.
💰 The PTA will be donating a portion of the profits from Coffee Mama sales to Macmillan.
☀️ Drop-Off & Catch-Up
Parents, please stick around after drop-off! Grab a coffee, have a pastry, and enjoy a friendly catch-up with other parents in the playground. It’s a lovely way to ease into the weekend together.

👟 THE BIG SCHOOL DASH & STRIDE CHALLENGE IS ON! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
Mark your calendars for Monday 5th October! Our St Francis pupils are lacing up their trainers for a fantastic sponsored run/walk on the school field!

This year, it's all about teamwork and friendly competition! Instead of individual profiles, every class is competing as a team to see who can raise the most money for our school. The winning class will take receive a special class prize!

🏆Here is what the children are tackling:
🔹 EYFS & KS1: 1km Run / Walk Challenge
🔹 KS2: 2.6km "Mini Marathon" Challenge

Every single donation directly boosts a class score and helps fund fantastic resources for all the children at St Francis.

☕🪩 BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS & VOLUNTEER CALL! 🪩☕

The new school year is officially underway, and we have an action-packed term planned for everyone!

Friday 25th September is going to be a huge day at St Francis:
☕ Coffee Mama is arriving! Set up by 7:30 AM every Friday morning, she'll be here to make sure parents and teachers start the day fully caffeinated.
💃 Back to School Disco! Later that afternoon, it’s time for the kids to hit the dance floor!

EYFS & KS1: 3:15 PM – 4:30 PM
KS2: 4:45 PM – 6:00 PM

🚨 WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🚨

Once you’ve had your morning Coffee Mama caffeine fix on the 25th, hopefully you'll be energized enough to lend us a hand with the disco?! We need a minimum of 6 helpers for each disco session so the children don't miss out.

We are also looking for volunteers for our Dash & Stride Challenge on Monday 5th October (2 helpers needed for each hour throughout the school day).
