Last night the PTA got together to celebrate another fantastic year... and to raise a glass to someone we're really going to miss.
Our very own Wheeler Dealer, Tasha.
Straight-talking, no-nonsense, powered almost entirely by tea, firmly in bed by 10pm ("Can we hurry these meetings along?!"), disco queen, Treasurer, chief negotiator, master delegator... and the woman who could somehow leave a conversation with you volunteering your time and agreeing for your business to sponsor the next event!
A huge shout-out must also go to her silent partner in crime, Elliot, who has quietly kept the books in check for us behind the scenes for more years than most people realise. Thank you, Elliot – we couldn't have done it without you.
You may not know Tasha by face, and you might never have spotted all the work she did behind the scenes, but trust us... if you owned a local business, you definitely knew when she'd been in! Whether it was sponsorship, raffle prizes or donations, she somehow always managed to work her magic.
So, to all our wonderful local businesses... you can finally relax. You no longer need to dive behind the counter when you see Tasha walking through the door!
As Tasha's child heads off to secondary school, it's time for her to step away from the PTA. While many parents may never know just how much she's achieved for Wentworth over the years, those of us lucky enough to have worked alongside her know the difference she's made. Her hard work, determination, humour and unwavering support have helped make so many wonderful things happen for our children and our school.
Thank you for every meeting, every plan, every favour called in, every prize secured and every event you've helped make a success. You've been one of a kind, and you'll leave very big shoes to fill.
We'll miss you more than you know. Take care, enjoy your well-earned evenings back, and please don't be a stranger. ❤️ ###
P.S. If any local businesses suddenly notice an increase in profits next year... you'll know why! 😉
