We also did some weighing of the animals to track there weight and condition before the fat stock show Ashford Livestock Market | Hobbs Parker Auctioneers LLP. On Saturday we held our annual club show where members get to show off what they have learnt and have some fun competition against each other. We invited parents and friends to come to the farm for this event and we set up stalls and games for fundraising. We had a great turn out this year with vital funds raised for the club.

We would all like to say a massive thank you to our 4 judges who came to the farm to judge our members and provided great feedback to help the members learn ready for shows next year. A thank you to the parents and leaders for running the BBQ, stalls and games. Thank you to the The Golden Boot for lending us their welly wanging kit. And finally a thank you to the leaders for organising another great club show and helping with fundraising for the club.

This year we had a turnout class and a handling and knowledge class for each animal section: sheep, pigs & cattle.

Our overall champion was a member on pig team and our reserve champion went to sheep. Well done to all who exhibited it was a great show and was great to see all getting involved and learning lots.

Its all pigs at cobtree currently with over 25 pigs/piglets on site currently! We have had a new litter of 13 piglets, alongside our newly bought senior gilt and a junior boar who once they are older will be part of the breeding we do on the farm.
On Saturday afternoon after doing our usual morning jobs, we gave the new piglets their iron injections, as well as moving around all our pigs to ensure they all have plenty of room. Members also got to do some training with their animals as they have got club show in a few weeks which is the very last show of the season for cobtree.

What a fantastic weekend for the club, even tho it has been really hot our members pushed through and walked away 4th overall in the Kent Young Farmers Official points this weekend. The total tally of our rosettes was about 84 these were over all of our livestock classes and crafts that we had entered. It was such an amazing Kent County Show 2026!

Cobtree’s show season hasn’t finished yet tho, we still have Edenbridge & Oxted Show at the end of August and our very own club show in September.

We just want to say a massive thank you to all the leaders, parents and helpers for this weekend it wouldn’t have happened without all of your help, we are all so grateful.

We would also like to say a massive congratulations to all of the other clubs that competed over the weekend.

A final massive congratulations to all of our members for this weekend we looked forward to the rest of our shows and for Kent County Show next year.
