WHAT IS FAITH?

TEXT: HEBREWS 11:1

MEMORY VERSE: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

Discussion:

What is faith? Many people think faith is just positive thinking or wishful expectation. No! Faith is not a guesswork of the mind. Faith is deeper, weightier, and stronger. The Bible defines it clearly: “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Can you imagine? Faith gives substance to what has not yet appeared. Faith is the evidence that what you are trusting God for already exists, even before it shows in the physical.

Faith is not pretending. It is not living in denial of reality. Faith sees what God has said as more real than what the eyes can see. Abraham believed God when He said he would be a father of many nations, even though he was old and Sarah’s womb was dead. Do you understand? Faith connects you to the possibilities of God.

Take note, without faith, there is no Christianity. Do not ever forget this: faith is the lifeline of your walk with God.

My Declaration: I believe the word of God. I hold on to His promises. I live by faith and not by sight.

Prayer Points:

1. Lord, open my understanding to the reality of faith.

2. Father, help me to see Your word as more real than my circumstances.

3. Lord, strengthen me to stand in faith even when all odds are against me.

4. Father, destroy every doubt in my heart concerning Your promises.

5. Lord, let my faith in You be unshakable from today henceforth.
