The Brett Foundation, is a Maidenhead charity, founded by Susan Brett in June, 2014. Susan is the founder and Chairman of 2 further Maidenhead charities, these include the town's 'Open Kitchen' charity, started back in 2010, known today as 'Foodshare' and also a charity called 'Shelter'. The Foundation’s vision is to eradicate all loneliness for people of all ages and gender, to be a support to th
ose that need it most, who may be on the wrong track, who need a guiding hand & to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry and for those families who can no buy the essentials or afford to feed their children. The Charity works with families providing children’s uniforms, and household items to people who are moving into empty homes after being evicted for not being able to afford rent. The families supported are normally moving into properties after being left homeless due to losing their jobs, or are on a low income. Susan Brett and her team of volunteers, work endlessly to provide school packs for school children who need school items, that their families cannot afford to purchase, homeless packs, which contain sleeping bags, tents, blankets, BBQ's, lights, pans, socks, pants and towels. Newborn babies are supported by the foundation too, supporting new baby packs, which contain baby clothes, toiletries, nappies, bedding, Moses basket and baby bouncer seat. At Easter & Christmas, Easter Eggs & Christmas items are provided, such as a tree, hampers, chocolates, mince pies, Christmas cake, fruit and vegetables, a voucher for meat and presents. Furthermore, The Brett Foundation also provide presents for the elderly who are alone with no living relatives and the homeless. Susan also works with the Youth Offenders Team and the youngsters doing community service help out with cooking, wrapping presents at Christmas and helping at the various community meals. As part of The Brett Foundations vision for the future, this is to see an end to food waste and lobbying government to change the laws surrounding food waste. We would like to have a ‘Community Café’ a place where vulnerable people can meet up and be offered some companionship, guidance and support. Thank you for your support and best wishes in supporting our charity. "TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE"
