☀️ We’re in the middle of a heatwave - here are some simple ways to keep your home cool and stay safe:

Keep the sun out - close curtains or blinds during the day to stop your home overheating.

Let cooler air in - open windows early morning or later in the evening when temperatures drop.

Stay hydrated - drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty.

Use the coolest room - spend time in the shadiest or coolest part of your home.

The Spring bank holiday weekend is nearly here!☀️

Our offices are open as usual today (Friday) until 4:45pm, and will be closed on Monday. You can still use our app and customer portal anytime to book appointments, check your balance and manage your home.

☀️ High temperatures are expected over the coming days ☀️

Please take extra care by following this advice:
✅ Avoid going outside during the hottest part of the day (11am–3pm)
✅ Drink plenty of water throughout the day
✅ Stay in the shade where possible
✅ Wear a hat and apply sun cream
✅ If you feel unwell, contact NHS 111 for advice

Please also check on friends, family and neighbours who may be more vulnerable in the heat.

Important message for Wokingham residents

We’ve been made aware today that a small group of individuals posing as Wokingham Borough Council contractors has been targeting residents. There have been reports of people entering gardens without permission and demanding payment for work (for example, grass cutting).

Please be vigilant:
• Do not allow anyone into your home or garden unless you’re expecting them
• Do not make payments to anyone claiming to carry out work on behalf of the Council (or Housing Solutions) without verifying who they are.

If you are approached or have any concerns:
📞 Report it to Thames Valley Police
📧 All Housing Solutions staff and contractors carry ID badges. Always ask to see their badge. If you’re in doubt, contact us to verify their identity

We designed the new website with our residents, focusing on what really matters and making things easier to find.
