Exciting News!

Following our recent meetings with Scout HQ, our landlord and in conjunction with the sailing club, we are pleased to announce that we will be trialling Farm Scouting!

This is another exciting opportunity for us, as previously you'll note we were involved in the Dog Section and the underwater camping trials - these were dropped after issues regarding subscriptions....

We are so excited to get involved at grass roots level with this new idea from HQ - obviously we will miss the water activities and the boats we have, but trading them in for tractors, combines, ploughers and sprayers will really help us head full force into Farm Scouting.

The sailing club have agreed to allow us to use a portion of the lake for our activities and our landlord will prepare the area and fill with soil - this will make our first crop hopefully ready by September 2026.

As for the Farm Scout weekly activities, these will run in tandem with traditional Scouting - Soil Preparing, Hedge Cutting, Field Ploughing and Fruit Picking are some of the new badges planned.

Obviously the uniform will change slightly - dungarees and wellies being the standard for each weeks meeting.
