The Baby Bank

The Baby Bank provides baby and children’s (0-16) clothes and essential equipment to families in need in Berkshire and surrounding areas.

The Baby Bank accepts donations of preloved and new items for babies, toddlers and teenagers. Following referrals by local teams working directly with families and other agencies, we provide baby/child essentials such as cots, buggies, clothes and safety items to families. We throughly check every item to ensure it meets safety standards as well as adhering to our own strict standards. Items that

we cannot accept :
Anything that is broken, stained, damaged or has parts missing
Used mattresses-Safe sleep guidelines
Used car seats -we cannot accept these for safety reasons
Potties and toilet seats-hygiene
Breast pumps or used bottles
Cot bumpers

A great to start to our Preschooler Packs in collaboration with Achieving for Children.

These packs will help literacy skills for preschoolers in Windsor & Maidenhead so they can have additional resources to find fun and creative ways to aid their learning at home.

It’s been a hot summer holiday for us at Tectonic Place, but the support needed doesn’t quieten — and thankfully, neither have the donations.

A huge thank you to everyone who has dropped off items this week. In particular, prams have been very much needed.

Working closely with local midwifery teams, all 7 prams donated this week have already been allocated to new families, each with a baby due imminently.

Having clean, good-to-go prams ready for these families means they can feel prepared as soon as possible, helping to alleviate just one of the many stresses that comes with preparing for a new baby. Moses baskets like this one will accompany the prams, filled with essentials.

Our main focus next week will be cots & cot beds which we currently have a wait list for. If you have one you’ve been meaning to drop off that’s under 10yrs old, in fully working, safe condition with all the fixtures & fittings & instructions, we’re open as usual Mon, Weds & Fri 9:30-12:30.

We’ve got a dedicated donation point just for school uniform, making it super easy to re-gift your “good to gift” school items and help families in our local community who could use a helping hand.
📍 You’ll find the donation point at the end of the tills.
All we ask is that donations are:

✨ Bagged up and ready to go

✏️ Inline with our focus on Best Start in Life and the importance of the Early Years, we’re delighted to be working alongside Achieving for Children to create a number of literacy packs for preschool children across RBWM.

🛍️ Each pack will include a selection of carefully chosen new items designed to encourage speech, language and early literacy development, helping children build strong foundations before they begin their school journey.

💙 To ensure every family receives the same high-quality pack, we are including only brand-new items and keeping the contents consistent for everyone.

Many of these items have been added to our Amazon Wish List.

🧼 We kindly ask that all donations are thoroughly cleaned & checked before donating. Items on our needs list will be gifted without delay, so need to be in a good to go condition.

⭐️ Please can we ask that you do not drop any more clothing, crib or Moses baskets for the time being. We will update on social media as soon as this changes ⭐️

💙 We have been extremely grateful for the generosity of our community this past week.

We are quite overwhelmed with donations at the moment and need to get more sorting done to create additional safer working space for our volunteers. Please bear with us 🙏🏻

✨ THANK YOU Bmc Helix ✨

When Bmc Helix came to us with their donation drive idea, we were delighted!
Together they packed over 50 bags with essential items for us to gift - nappies, baby wipes, nappy cream, baby vests, babygros and a cute little toy.

This thoughtful act of kindness and goodwill gesture will mean we can quickly provide essentials to our families without delay.
