It's Hospice UK's , and we're celebrating the amazing community of people who support our local children's hospice service.

What a way to spend a Saturday! 🏟

A huge well done to the amazing team of daredevils who took part in the Twickenham Zip Wire Challenge this weekend!

One by one, the team took to the zip wire, soaring 150 metres across Allianz Stadium. And we couldn't have asked for a lovelier morning for it!

Thank you to everyone who took part, faced their fears and helped make a difference for the local children and families we support at Alexander Devine.

This evening we join the global and take a moment to hold in our hearts all the precious babies and pregnancies we’ve had the privilege of supporting at Alexander Devine.

Our thoughts are with every family we’ve supported through pregnancy and baby loss, and with all families across the baby loss community who are remembering their beloved little ones.

At 7pm, join us for the global Wave of Light, where we encourage you to light a candle in memory of all babies’ lives that have gone too soon. 💙

What does children's hospice care mean to you?

This , our CEO and Founder, Fiona Devine MBE, shares what children's hospice care means to her, and why it's about so much more than many people might imagine:

“The word ‘hospice’ is not a word that many relate to with happy thoughts, and I much prefer the Latin ‘a resting place on life’s journey’.

I know from our experience that you cannot go into a children’s hospice and not be filled instantly with love, laughter, happiness and…tears.

That is what we are all about, providing a safe place for all, a place to be yourself and have a safe pair of loving arms around you, as much or as little as you need them.”

And it's our wonderful team who bring Fiona's words to life every day. A huge thank you to Alexander's Nurses, Carers and everyone across our team who work so hard to make our hospice such a special place for 250+ children and families we support at Alexander Devine.

Behind so many of the smiles and special memories at Alexander Devine is our wonderful Play Specialist Team, Liz, Gemma and Priya, and the volunteers who support them! 🤩

This , we're giving them a well-deserved shoutout for everything they do.

From getting stuck into messy play and organising exciting days out, to planning our summer sibling activities, family fun days and Christmas celebrations, they're always busy making special things happen.

Through play, they help our supported children and their siblings to express their feelings, build confidence, make friends and navigate challenges, adapting activities to suit every child's individual needs.

A huge thank you to our amazing team for all the work that goes on behind the scenes to make these experiences so special for our families!

We’re looking forward to welcoming our supported young people to our very first Transition Coffee Morning this Saturday! ☕

The transition towards adult services can feel daunting, and it’s completely normal to have lots of questions about what comes next.

Our coffee morning is a chance for supported young people aged 14+, and their parents and carers, to get together in a relaxed setting, ask questions, share experiences, meet other families and access support for the journey ahead.

The total is in from our 6th annual Devine Golf Day at Harleyford Golf Club, and what a result!
