⛺️Summer Camp 2026 is done!⛺️
The weather was perfect this year as we had 35 families staying over in tents & campervans with 20 families coming for the day.
A massive thank you to year 5 dad Jamie who ran the BBQ and Mattie for her front of house serving.
We hope everyone who came to our special community event (and the last of this school year) had lots of fun! Roll on Summer Camp 2027. 😎

DJs Dexter and Dee were back for the Year 2 Leavers' Disco after school today and what a fab event it was. 88 year 2 children came in their finery and danced their hearts out in the Infants hall. After the last song, they all joined in with a Jump Start Jonny workout, appropriately it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G because the year 2 children are indeed amazing! 🤩
This event has raised around £750 profit for Furze Platt Infant School. Thank you so much to the year 2 staff who stayed behind to help and dance with the children, some great moves on show.

Meet Furze Platt Dad Simon. For over 10 years, he has been working his magic producing fabulous posters for our fundraising events as well as creating professional programmes for our Summer and Christmas fairs working closely with Emma Sweeting with her lovely artwork. In addition, he designed the current FPSA logo which is used on our comms and did a lot of our Facebook posts.
Simon says “It has been a great experience to “give a little back” and help the FPSA with their new logo and doing some posters, leaflets and other bits of “colouring-in” over the last few years. When helping out on stalls at the summer and Christmas fairs, it has really brought it home to me the fun and laughter (and sugar rushes!) the FPSA provides, along with raising some much needed cash for the ‘extras’ that help improve the school experience for all our kids. It has been a pleasure and a privilege! Thank you. “

Summer Fair 2026 is done! 😍
Thank you to everyone who came to our World Cup Summer Fair last Saturday, we hope you had lots of fun.
We are very grateful to all the stall volunteers on the day as well as those lovely people who helped us set up on Friday and Saturday or cleared up at the end. A huge thanks to everyone who baked a cake or donated a prize to the tombolas or silent auction. We also acknowledge and appreciate the help from the staff from both schools.
The giant doggy's name turned out to be Eric and he was won by Emmy in year 2. The World Cup Past Players 100 board was won by Claudia who correctly chose Pele and the World Cup Present 100 Board was won by Erin who chose Scotland’s Aaron Hickey.
Thank you to the lovely Emma Sweeting for providing the fair poster artwork once again as well as Simon Watson for his help with the fair poster and programme.
Thank you to Michelle and Sonia from Paint It Neon (www.paintitneon.co.uk) for raising money for the schools with their fabulous stall.
Finally, we are very grateful to Oakwood Estates for sponsoring our fair again.

Once again, Furze Platt Dad Jamie has been busy in his workshop recently, handcrafting some new trophies for the welly wanging stall. There's one for the Infants, one for the Juniors and one for the Adults.
The question on everyone's lips is, can anyone stop Matthew from winning 5 in a row?

At this year’s Summer Fair, we have a fantastic line up of live entertainment…..

🔴Just before kick-off, we have the Furze Platt Infant School choir singing just outside the entrance.
🔴At 12.45pm it’s the turn of the Furze Platt Junior School choir.
🔴At 1pm, we have Berkshire Music Trust woodwind players from FPJS for the first time.
🔴At 2pm, it’s the traditional Street Dance from both schools (listen out for some classic MC Hammer).
🔴At 2.20pm, we have a couple of Furze Platt’s Got Talent performances.
🔴Finally at 2.30pm, it’s the return of the Jump Start Jonny Jumpsters featuring the workouts ‘We are the Champs’ and ‘A-M-A-Z-I-N-G’. Children from both schools are encouraged to join in the last workout.

At this year’s World Cup Summer Fair on Saturday, we have 2 separate World Cup themed 100 Boards where you can win £100 on each one!

The first board is a World Cup players of the past board featuring lots of England players such as Bryan Robson, Geoff Hurst, David Beckham, Alan Shearer and Kevin Keegan as well as a few other internationals including Diego Maradona, Paolo Maldini and Jurgen Klinsmann.
The second board is a collection of players from World Cup 2026 including Harry Kane, Scott McTominay, Lamine Yamal, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

Each square is £2 and we will draw a random number from each board at the end of the fair. Two lucky people will win £100 (or one lucky person could win both boards!).
Sales started after school today and will carry on at the summer fair.

At this year’s Summer Fair, there will be plenty to get your teeth into as well as quench your thirst.
🌭🍰🍦🍪
We have ‘Team BBQ’ cooking up lovely hot dogs & veggie hot dogs. Infants Teaching Assistants Mrs Bi and Mrs Williams will be serving up delicious samosas and cookies respectively and also in the hall we will have the traditional cake stall, tuck shop and ice-creams.
🍺🍹☕️🧃
On the pitch, the bar will be serving Rebellion ales, lager and Pimms and next to this will be the kids mocktails with Mrs Wytchard, Miss Aggarwal and Miss Reike in the team for the first hour. Soft drinks and teas & coffees will be available in the hall all managed by coach Vanessa.

Hydration breaks may be controversial at the World Cup but they will be actively encouraged at the fair!

At this year's World Cup Summer Fair next Saturday, the popular Tin Can Alley stall has had an upgrade. It's now, "World Cup Tin Can Alley"!🇨🇦🇺🇸🇲🇽🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇫🇷🇩🇪🇪🇸🇿🇦🇧🇷
Knock all 10 tin cans off the table and you win 2 books! Incredible scenes.

The Summer Fair boards are up!😍
Thank you to everyone who signed up to have a board advertising our World Cup Summer Fair, we had 60 sign ups in the end. Plus of course a huge thank you to Oakwood Estates for sponsoring our fair, this has helped raise more money for our 2 schools.
