Maidenhead Waterways The campaign is for the benefit of all home owners, companies, workers and visitors to Maidenhead, and aims to raise money for the next stage of the project.

Maidenhead Waterways is a charity set up by the people of Maidenhead for the town of Maidenhead, campaigning to restore the old waterways in Maidenhead town centre.

Alongside the towns Live & Local event! There will be boat rides on York Stream, Maidenhead, Saturday 22nd Aug - From 2pm until 6pm ☀️

The Friends of Maidenhead Waterways volunteers will be back running boat rides lasting 20 minutes along the restored waterway. 🚤

Start and finish at the quay next to Bombay Story restaurant Waterside Quarter, Maidenhead SL6 1QG. (Daisy the alligator 🐊)

First come first served. Welcome aboard!

We are delighted to be a "Wonky Boats" winner! Thanks so much The Boathouse and Silverbirch Canoes for your wonderful gift! This beautiful canoe 🛶 will be used by Maidenhead Canoe Club and for our canoe activities with The Autism Group and other charities we work with. It will paddle many miles and bring lots of happiness to many people. Thank you 🙏.

We were pleased to welcome residents of ONE Maidenhead Get Living for a canoe day to explore Maidenhead’s restored York Stream.

More than 40 residents paddled along the waterway in kayaks or canoes in small groups through the day in warm summer sunshine, supervised by one of our qualified coaches.

Get Living are brilliant partners in supporting our charity’s work in sharing our restored waterway with the community. It is thanks to Get Living’s support that we were able to buy canoes and launch Maidenhead Canoe Club, which is proving a great asset to the town.

It is a great example of how we can work together to help strengthen community ties and make Maidenhead a better place to live.

(PS the green algae on the water surface is due to the current heatwave, not water quality. It will disappear once it rains again and the weather cools)

Our volunteers are running free boat rides on York Stream, Maidenhead, this Saturday 18 July from 10am-1pm in our two maintenance boats. The rides begin and end at Chapel Arches north by Bombay Story restaurant. First come first served. This is part of our mission to share the restored waterway with the community. This activity is kindly supported by Heathrow Community Trust.
