Thanks to the lovely team at Bray Lake Watersports for hosting a visit from Maidenhead Canoe Club yesterday for leadership and deep water rescue training in windy open water conditions. We really enjoyed the visit and look forward to working together in the future for mutual benefit.

Our first Volunteer Day was a big success. We signed up some new volunteers, led some guided waterways walks and also did some maintenance work. This included clearing w**d clogging the eel pass - where we found a baby eel, which was released back into the water. This shows the eel pass is working and providing aquatic connectivity between Bray and Cookham along York Stream and Bray Cut.

A fabulous day on the water today. 151 people joined us for free boat rides on York Stream, run by Friends of Maidenhead Waterways volunteers. They included many families. Parents told us how much they appreciated a free family activity and how much they enjoyed the day. We are grateful to Heathrow Community Trust for their support, which allows us to offer this activity free to residents of Maidenhead.
