If you want to join Maidenhead Canoe Club, you are in luck. Our Discover course for new joiners this Saturday 6th June 0930-1630 was fully booked, but we've had a late cancellation. The fee is £100 (£60 course fee and £40 annual canoe club membership). Canoes, paddles, buoyancy aids all provided. We paddle on York Stream Monday evenings 7pm-9pm with some additional trips and weekend paddles. If you are interested email [email protected]

Maidenhead Canoe Club and the Litter Avengers today took part in the Big Paddle Clean Up, removing rubbish from York Stream. After a careful check for nesting birds, the volunteers worked in canoes and on the banks to take away nine bags of cans, bottles, plastic, food wrappers, toys and even a mattress and a suitcase. Let's keep our rivers clean together.

From inside Waterside Quarter at Chapel Arches from 9.30AM

Just turn up and register your place in the queue.

Rides will be offered on a first come first served basis.

You participate at your own risk, but bouyancy aids will be provided.

Waterways volunteers are repurposing some of the redundant large planters RBWM used to have on the railings along the main roads through town. Although sorry to see them go, we will adapt and plant them up with recommended marginal species (Iris, Caltha etc) to sit on the submerged ledges inside Waterside Quarter. Once established, the planters will bring a welcome splash of colour and greenery to the channel. As the planters sit on the submerged ledges, they will be self-watering and at the same time serve to warn boats of the hull hazard below.

A record turnout for Maidenhead Canoe Club on Monday night. We welcomed new members and enjoyed a relaxed social paddle along our restored waterway as the sun dipped. If you want to join our club, there are just three places left on our next all day Discover kayak and river skills course on Saturday 6 June, costing £60. For details email [email protected]
