We’re incredibly proud to share that The XC is now officially delivering NICAS Ascend courses 🎉
NICAS Ascend is a nationally recognised climbing progression scheme designed specifically to support young people and adults with additional needs, helping them develop confidence, independence, and climbing skills at their own pace — in a safe, supportive environment.

Being able to run NICAS Ascend through our Absolutely Together programme means we can continue doing what matters most to us:
👉 removing barriers to participation
👉 creating genuinely inclusive experiences
👉 and using climbing as a tool for confidence, wellbeing and growth

Skye Jones, Operations Manager at The XC, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to be able to offer NICAS Ascend at The XC. This programme aligns perfectly with our values — it’s not about how fast you progress, but about feeling safe, supported and celebrated for every step forward. For many of our climbers, this will be their first opportunity to follow a recognised pathway that truly works for them.”

Every session delivered at the XC helps us reinvest back into our wider charitable mission — ensuring more children, young people and families can access inclusive, life-affirming activities.

Yesterday was Lucas's last day at Little Hay.

Lucas joined us as an inturn from Oaklands College, where he learned the ropes of working on a bar and in a kitchen. He has come on leaps and bounds over the past months, since September.

We wish Lucas well and from all of the team at Little Hay Golf, thank you and good luck!

Accessible SEN Pitch & Putt Sessions at Little Hay Golf Course ⛳️

Looking for a welcoming, inclusive sporting activity for your child with disabilities or special educational needs? 💛

Our SEN Pitch & Putt Sessions at Little Hay Golf Course offer a calm, supportive environment where children and young people can enjoy golf, build confidence, and have fun in the great outdoors. 🌿

🏆 Sessions are designed to:
Develop coordination and focus
Encourage social interaction and confidence
Provide a safe, relaxed setting with friendly instructors

These sessions are run in partnership with the Absolutely Together Smiles Project, helping families access inclusive, accessible sports and recreation opportunities.

We are very grateful to who last week, at a meeting chaired by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, awarded Absolutely Together £2500. These funds will be used to provided inclusive karting sessions, specifically for those with complex physical needs at

Our SEND school sessions and Family Smile Sessions at the weekend are proving to be very successful across all of our sites.

Our Mission this year is to provide 60,000 free sessions at our own site and working with other Leisure Partners.
