Foodshare Maidenhead Crisis food bank, a members shop, community meals, and drop-in food services for the homeless and anyone facing hunger.

Our mission is to nourish, empower, and connect our community. MAIDENHEAD FOODBANK PROVIDES EMERGENCY FOOD TO PEOPLE IN CRISIS. Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill or are on a low income. A simple bag of food makes a big difference. WHO DONATES FOOD
Schools, churches, Supermarkets, businesses and individuals donate food to us at

the Maidenhead Foodbank. We have a team of volunteers who can pick up food parcels from around the area. Large collections often take place as part of Harvest Festival and Christmas celebrations. FOOD IS SORTED AND STORED
Volunteers sort food and pack it into bags ready to be given to people in need. PROFESSIONALS IDENTIFY PEOPLE IN NEED
Foodbanks partner with a wide range of care professionals such as doctors, health visitors, social workers, CAB, SMART and the police to identify people in crisis and issue them with a foodbank voucher. CLIENTS RECEIVE FOOD
Foodbank clients bring their voucher to the Maidenhead foodbank centre where it can be redeemed for three days’ emergency food. We are able to deliver food bags to the elderly or people who are unable to get to us. MAKING DONATIONS

HELP US FEED CHILDREN THIS SUMMER 💚

During the school holidays, many local families find it even harder to keep food on the table.

With food prices continuing to rise, we’re asking our community for one small favour.

When you do your supermarket shop this week, could you add just ONE extra item to your trolley and pop it into the FoodShare donation box?

🥫 One tin
🥣 One box of cereal
🍝 One packet of pasta
🍪 One packet of snacks

It might only be one item to you.

But imagine if every shopper donated just one thing.

Those individual tins, packets and boxes soon add up, helping us make sure local children and their families have food available throughout the long school holidays.

One extra item. That’s all we’re asking. 💚

Please look out for the *FoodShare donation box* when you’re doing your supermarket shop.

Thank you for helping local families when they need it most.

DONATION DROP-OFF TIMES AT FOODSHARE

If you’d prefer to bring your donations directly to us, you can drop them off at:

Wednesday: 4.15pm – 5.45pm
Friday: 11.00am – 11.45am
Saturday: 9.30am – 10.45am

Can’t make those times? No problem.

Go through the metal gates at the side of FoodShare and you’ll see our blue donation boxes.

You can pop food donations into these boxes at any time.

**Volunteer From Home – Help Keep FoodShare Organised**

Would you like to make a real difference and help keep FoodShare running smoothly?

We’re looking for a reliable volunteer who is confident using WhatsApp to help manage our volunteer groups, coordinate drivers, and send timely reminders about collections and shifts.

This is a really valuable role. By helping keep our volunteers organised, you’ll play an important part in making sure collections are covered and our food bank sessions are fully supported each week.

This role could be perfect for you if you:
• Want to volunteer but can’t commit to regular sessions.
• Have mobility or health issues that make volunteering in person difficult.
• Are organised, reliable, and comfortable using WhatsApp.

It doesn’t take a huge amount of time, but it does require someone who is organised, dependable, and happy to keep everything ticking along behind the scenes. The difference you’ll make to our team will be enormous.

If you think you could commit to this role, we’d love to hear from you. Please send us a message for an informal chat or email [email protected]

We’re Looking for a New Volunteer to Join Our Fresh Food Team!

Are you active, enjoy keeping busy, and would like to make a real difference in your local community?

We’re looking for someone to join our small, friendly team on Friday mornings from 11.00 am until around 12.30 pm.

The role involves helping in our chiller room, where you’ll:
• Sort and check fresh food deliveries.
• Process incoming stock from our food partners.
• Label and organise food ready for distribution.
• Help make sure everything is stored safely and efficiently.

It’s a hands-on role, so you’ll be on your feet and keeping busy, but you’ll be part of a fantastic team helping ensure good food reaches local people instead of going to waste.

No experience is needed. We’ll show you everything you need to know.

If you can spare just 90 minutes a week and would like to join our team, we’d love to hear from you.

Please send us a message or share this post to help us find our next amazing volunteer. 💚

HELP US FEED CHILDREN THIS SUMMER

During the school holidays, many local families find it even harder to keep food on the table. With the cost of food continuing to rise, every donation really does make a difference.

If you’re doing your supermarket shop this week, could you add just one extra item to your trolley and place it in the FoodShare donation box?

One tin. One packet. One breakfast cereal. One snack.

It may seem like a small gesture, but together those single donations help us make sure children have enough to eat during the school holidays.

Please look for the FoodShare donation box in your supermarket.

Thank you for helping local families when they need it most.

Meet Chef Bea and Vicky – two of the amazing volunteers behind our Saturday Community Café. ❤️

Every Saturday morning, while most of us are still waking up, Chef B is already hard at work in the kitchen, preparing a full cooked breakfast with all the little touches that make it feel extra special.

Nothing is rushed. Nothing is an afterthought. From the perfectly cooked breakfast to the friendly smile that comes with it, Chef Bea puts her heart into every plate she serves. It’s no surprise she’s become a bit of a legend with our regulars!

Alongside Vicky and the rest of our wonderful café team, they create much more than breakfast. They create a place where people feel welcome, can sit down, have a chat, enjoy good food and start the weekend with a smile.

Every breakfast is completely free of charge for those who need a little extra support, because at FoodShare we believe everyone deserves a warm meal and a warm welcome.

A huge thank you to Chef Bea, Vicky and every one of our café volunteers. You don’t just feed people… you make them feel they belong. 💚

What makes FoodShare different?

It’s a question we’re asked quite a lot.

Every month, we support more than 400 local people, and even more when you include everyone who joins us at our Community Café for a freshly cooked meal.

Of course, food is at the heart of what we do. Whether you’re struggling because of rising bills, the school holidays, an unexpected change in circumstances, or simply finding money doesn’t stretch as far as it used to, we’re here to help.

But we’re about so much more than handing out bags of tins.

Our priority is providing fresh, healthy food wherever possible – fruit, vegetables, chilled food, bread and everyday essentials, helping families put proper meals on the table.

Just as important is the atmosphere.

Parents can take their time choosing food while their children enjoy our play area, whether that’s colouring, building with toys or challenging each other to Giant Connect Four. Our volunteers are always ready with a smile, a chat and a warm welcome. It never feels rushed, and we hope everyone leaves feeling just a little bit better than when they arrived.

We believe support should come with dignity, kindness and respect. That’s something we’re incredibly proud of, and it’s why so many people tell us FoodShare feels different.

Everyone who uses FoodShare is referred by one of our partner organisations, making sure support reaches those who need it most. The referral process is straightforward, and there are lots of local organisations that can help arrange one.

We can’t solve every problem. But we can make today a little easier, put healthy food on the table, and remind people that their community is behind them.

We think that’s a pretty good place to start. 💚

Can you help us?

We’re looking for a commercial upright freezer, similar to the one pictured.

As more food is being donated to FoodShare, we’re simply running out of freezer space. Having another freezer would mean we can store more good-quality food and make it available to more local people who need it.

If you own a café, restaurant, supermarket, catering business, or work in the food industry, you may know of a freezer that’s no longer needed. It could make a huge difference to us.

If you can’t help directly, we’d really appreciate it if you could share this post or tag someone who might be able to.

Sometimes the right person sees a post because one person took a few seconds to share it.

Thank you for helping us support our local community. ❤

💚 A little message from all of us at FoodShare…

If things are feeling a bit stretched right now, whether it’s food, finances, or just life in general, please know that you’re not alone.

Every week we meet people from all walks of life. Families, couples, pensioners, people in work, people between jobs, and people facing unexpected challenges. Sometimes all it takes is a little extra support to help someone through a difficult patch.

That’s why FoodShare is here.

If you need help with food, please do reach out. Visit our website to find out more about the support available, or if things are particularly difficult, come along and have a chat with us on Saturday morning.

You’ll always be met with a friendly face, a warm welcome, and people who genuinely care.

FoodShare has never just been about food. It’s about community. It’s about neighbours helping neighbours. And it’s about making sure that when life gets tough, nobody has to face it alone.

We’re here when you need us.
