Keeping our community safe, together. 🀝
There was a fantastic turnout at the Glenavon Hotel yesterday for the Crime Prevention event tailored for the Mid Ulster Asian Business Community.
Police Mid Ulster CID shared vital insights into past burglary patterns to help understand the "how" and "when."
This was followed up with practical, actionable advice on Home, Personal, and Business safety.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended! We hope the crime prevention packs and forensic marking kits help you feel more secure.

πŸ›‘οΈ Don’t Let Your Heating Oil Be an Easy Target!
With heating oil being a valuable asset, it's more important than ever to secure your tank. Check out our quick guide for 6 effective ways to deter thieves and protect your home:

πŸ‘‚ Make some noise: Gravel around your tank makes a silent approach impossible.

πŸ”’ Lock it up: Use a high-quality, all-weather combination padlock (and share the code with your supplier!).

🌿 Nature's defense: Secure your perimeter with high fencing and thorny shrubs.

πŸ’‘ Shed some light: Install motion-sensor security lighting near the tank.

🚨 Get an alarm: A heating oil tank alarm can alert you to sudden drops in oil levels.

πŸ“Ή Keep watch: CCTV with motion sensors can help catch thieves in the act and act as a powerful deterrent.

A massive well done to the Mid Ulster Area Youth Service team for such a successful event in Dungannon!

Mid Ulster PCSP was delighted to support an evening that combined a great atmosphere with vital safety education. Seeing young people engage so proactively with topics like drink spiking awareness and making safe choices is exactly why these partnerships are so important. Thank you to Police Mid Ulster and Start360 for delivering these important messages.

Educating our youth today leads to a safer community for everyone tomorrow.πŸ‘

Their future is your present.

As parents, we want the absolute best for our children in MidUlster. But the reality is that the pressures surrounding drug use are closer than we think.

It’s not an easy conversation. It’s scary. We might worry about saying the wrong thing, or even "giving them ideas." But the biggest danger is silence.

What You Need to Know:
πŸ›‘ Awareness is Prevention: Understanding the signs of drug use and the real dangersβ€”physical, mental, and legalβ€”is your first line of defense.
🀝 Connection is Key: Building a strong bond where your child feels safe talking to you is the most powerful protective factor.
πŸ’¬ Simple Conversations Matter: You don’t need all the answers. You just need to be willing to talk, and more importantly, to listen.
