🌟 No Labels No Limits 🌟

A fantastic 'No Labels No Limits' event took place on Monday 12 October as part of Good Relations Week, bringing together almost 80 young people from across Mid Ulster to explore the important themes of diversity, inclusion, good relations and community safety.

Delivered through a partnership between the Mid Ulster Area Youth Service , Police Mid Ulster , Mid Ulster District Council and Mid Ulster PCSP, the event provided a valuable opportunity for young people to discuss what good relations mean in practice, explore why some individuals may carry weapons, and gain a deeper understanding of the serious consequences of knife and gun crime.

🚔 Members of the PSNI Armed Response Team brought these discussions to life through engaging role-play scenarios, helping young people understand the real-life impact that carrying weapons can have on individuals, families and communities. The session reinforced the importance of making positive choices and highlighted the role young people can play in creating safer communities.

The evening then moved into a celebration of culture, exploring the diversity that strengthens our communities.

The event demonstrated the power of youth work in creating safe spaces for honest conversations, challenging attitudes, building understanding and strengthening relationships across our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the evening. By creating opportunities for young people to learn, connect and celebrate diversity together, we continue to build stronger, safer and more inclusive communities for all. 🙌💫

𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱-𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗩𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀!

Following the success and impact of last year’s ‘Called Out’, a powerful and important message on ending violence against women and girls, the show returns and will be performed for 16 local schools in the coming weeks, supported through the Council’s Ending Violence Against Women and Girls funding.

The Wee Yarn Production, written by Cathal Clarke and directed by Aoibh Clarke is a powerful, trauma-informed production created in response to the Ending Violence Against Women and Girls Campaign.

The performance explores toxic male relationships and the impact this has upon women and girls. Patriarchal norms are handed down through generations and this one man show, asks us as a society to stop, reflect and change.

The Called Out performances are funded by the Council under The Executive Office's Ending Violence Against Women and Girls Programme, with additional support from Choice Housing, Apex Housing, Arbour Housing, and Clanmill Housing (under the Housing for All Programme), Education Authority Youth Service, and Mid Ulster PCSP.

A big thank you to the organisers for inviting Mid Ulster PCSP to attend Oisín’s Coffee & Cars.

We had a fantastic day engaging with members of the local community, discussing community safety issues, and building positive relationships with our colleagues in Police Mid Ulster.

Mid Ulster PCSP is proud to support this year's Fireworks Safety Event at Magherafelt EA Youth Centre alongside Police Mid Ulster, NI Fire & Rescue Service and NI Ambulance Service.

Young people will learn about the dangers of fireworks and the importance of staying safe this season.

🔒 FREE PROPERTY-MARKING EVENT AT LOUGHRY COLLEGE! 🔒

Protect your valuable equipment, trailers, and tools with the Cookstown Neighbourhood Policing Team and Crime Prevention Officer! See below for details

On Tuesday 22 September from 10am to 1pm, your Cookstown Neighbourhood Policing Team and Crime Prevention Officer will be holding a free property-marking event at Loughry College, Cookstown.

This is an opportunity for us to help you protect your trailers, quads, tools and bicycles. Trailers will be marked in the usual way and any quads, tools and bicycles will be protected using forensic marking kits.

We will apply SelectaDNA which provides an invisible, unique code to property, helping our officers identify and recover stolen items.

No booking is required, please just come along.

🚗Thank you to New Driver NI for delivering an important and engaging session to the pupils at Magherafelt High School! 🎓

Promoting road safety and helping our young drivers stay safe on the roads is a key priority for the PCSP. We appreciate your continued work in educating and empowering our local students.

New Driver NI 2026/27

🚗 **New Driver NI 2026/27 – Preparing Young People for Safer Journeys**

Helping young people understand the responsibilities of driving is an important part of building safer roads, which is why we were delighted to recently visit Magherafelt High School.

We had the opportunity to meet with Year 13 students and talk about the choices and responsibilities they will soon face as both drivers and passengers. The session covered a range of key road safety issues, including speeding, driver distraction, drink and drug driving, the importance of wearing a seat belt and the dangers associated with making risky decisions.

We also looked at the upcoming changes linked to the Graduated Driving Licence, helping students understand what these changes could mean as they begin learning to drive.

The New Driver programme is about much more than passing a driving test. It is about encouraging young people to develop good habits, make informed decisions and understand the responsibility that comes with being behind the wheel.

We would like to thank Mid Ulster PCSP for their continued support of the New Driver programme. Their contribution helps Year 13 and Year 14 students throughout the Mid Ulster area access a free copy of the 2026/27 New Driver magazine, providing valuable advice and information as they prepare for life on the road.

A huge thank you also goes to the students and staff at Magherafelt High School for their warm welcome and fantastic participation throughout the session.
