Whats included in your festival ticket?
Entry to the festival at Madderty Hall 11am-4pm.
🧶 browse and shop in the natural textiles marketplace with wonderful vendors from angora goat mohair, sheep’s wool and other natural fibre yarns (and Scottish journal!) to linen embroidery kits, nettle shawls, cotton eco food wraps, handcrafted fabric dungarees and wool ponchos, felting kits, wool pillows, willow baskets and so much more!
🐏 browse the grease fleece market - all wool grown and shorn in Scotland - purchase your favourite fleece to process at home.
🧶 join for hands on wool craft and mindful creativity with Strathearn Creates (donations welcome for RSABI, Scotland’s rural charity supporting Scottish farmers and crofters)
🪡 learn Japanese boro mending in a free drop-in workshop with award-winning environmental charity Remake
Delve deeper into textiles and join one of our festival focus sessions (talks ticketed separately):
🐏 11.30am - 12pm join Pam of Shearing Crafts as she takes us on her journey into sheep shearing and wet felting
🌿 1pm - 1.30pm Join Karen of Handmade Nepal to learn about Himalayan nettle fibres and how communities in Nepal make textiles with this plant
💤 3pm- 3.30pm come and hear from Julie of Uan wool about their sheep farm in Angus and their diversification to wool bedding for sleep health and well-being
🍰 purchase some delicious local food from the wonderful Hazelnuts Catering (from filled rolls and quiche to cakes and tray bakes) hot and cold drinks available to purchase too.
🌿 stay and create and enjoy the rural setting of the festival in a day of creativity and community
