The scout section had a great evening learning about bats tonight thanks to Laura for running the session and bringing along a very appreciated donation of bat and bird boxes from the NestBox company.

The scouts were able to follow the clear instructions and showed great teamwork. The boxes have been numbered and their position recorded on our campsite so we can carry out surveys of who moves in. Carrying on our pledge to help the environment for David Attenborough birthday.

To celebrate David Attenborough 100th birthday tomorrow and do our bit for the environment learning more about the countryside code the scout section was out last night checking their spaces in town after the weekend. It was not too bad but sadly a few glass bottles on the edge of the rugby field. Plus lots of ci******es end. Which led to a discussion around the recent wild fires in our community. equipment is available from local libraries in Powys if you want to have a go. Powys Libraries/Llyfrgelloedd Powys

Happy Founders Day.

Andy and I have had a busy weekend representing Montgomeryshire at the Westminster Abbey service of Thanksgiving for Founders day. It was a lovely service reflecting on the power of experiences and how taking part in the different activities scouting can offer, can play a big part in the person you become. Learning teamwork skills, resilience and confidence to name just a few.

Scout Founder’s Day is celebrated annually on February 22nd, marking the joint birthday of Scouting founder Lord Robert Baden-Powell (born 1857) and his wife Olave Baden-Powell (born 1889). It is a worldwide celebration where Scouts and Guides renew their promises, reflect on core values like service and leadership, and participate in community projects to "leave the world a little better".

A good start back to the term.

We do have a few spaces in the Scout section if you have a young person aged 10.5 yrs to 14 years who would be interested in joining please get in touch.
