Daniels place Foodbank Macduff We are a local charity shop that provides an essential Foodbank service to those in need.

Self referrals can be made as well as social work/council/doctors/turning point etc

The shop is closed now and we felt the need to thank a lot of people. It is difficult doing so without sounding like a very poor Oscar speech, but here goes...
to all our customers (even the difficult haggling ones!) thank you for your stories, your warmth and of course your custom.
Thanks to all users of the foodbank, we never underestimated how difficult it can be to come and ask for food. We thank you for your bravery and your patience.
Thanks to all colleagues, much was asked of you and, mostly, you rose to the challenge.
Thanks to our landlord who supported us during lockdown and beyond.
Thanks to all the outside agencies, job centre, NHS, care staff, social work etc. The good relationships we had with you all made it easier to support those in need and helped us identify who they were.

Ok, it did end up a poor Oscar speech with this difference, we mean every word.

Honestly, it's been a pleasure.

So, the shop is now empty , the foodbank is still running though, transferring to the furniture hall on the 1st of June, at ours until then. Usual hours

Here’s a post I never imagined writing, the charity shop/foodbank will be closing next month. Our last day of trading will be 27th May.

Opening 6 days a week with just 3 volunteers has sometimes been a challenge but one which we embraced and, mostly succeeded at. Now 2 of our team are moving on and although we have pursued many avenues, we have been unable to enlist anyone willing to run a shift.

It’s not all doom and gloom though, we are looking into ways to relocate the foodbank within Macduff and there’s always our ‘EVERYTHING MUST GO’ sale starting May 1st.

‘Thank you’ doesn’t feel enough to express our gratitude for the community support we have enjoyed over the years.

We will miss you

A BIG thank you to Karen, Audrey and Scott from Keystore, Macduff. Circumstances beyond their control left them with hundreds of loaves. They donated 200 to our foodbank, more than we could store, we sent some to the harvest centre and to Dounemount Care Home and kept loads for the foodbank. Thank you again, many people are benefitting from that glitch.
