They came back for more work in Tinkers Clough !!

The Kerridge Ridge and Ingersley Vale Volunteers (KRIV) returned to Tinkers Clough yesterday to do more work protecting this vital habitat. They:

- removed ivy on a good number of trees at the boundary. Not an easy job as the land slopes and some of the ivy was very thick.
- made improvements to four (deliberately)"leaky" dams and installed one new one.
- removed ash and elder saplings fom the central area to let more light into the Clough with some willow removed and then replanted in a couple of places next to the stream. Hopefully this will grow and help to stabilise the banks.
- removed logs that may block the stream at the culvert grill.
- removed safely some half a dozen dead trees.
- collected and removed a large bag full of litter - including a golf club !!

A huge thank you once again to this industrious group of volunteers without whose help the Clough could not be kept open to public access.

THEY'RE BACK! KRIV WORKING IN TINKERS CLOUGH AGAIN: FRIDAY 28TH AUGUST: PLEASE TAKE CARE.

On Friday 28th august, the Kerridge Ridge and Ingersley Vale Volunteers (KRIV) will be back carrying out essential work in Tinkers Clough.

A huge thank you in advance for their efforts which are essential to keeping the Clough open for community use.

The Clough will remain open to the public whilst the work is being done. We would ask that you take care if travelling through and follow any guidance offered by the KRIV volunteers.

A huge, huge, thank you to the KRIV volunteers for their work on the steps and the bridge in Tinkers Clough yesterday. A shout out as well to to our good neighbours Adlington Storage Ltd who made the donation to purchase all of the materials used.

Without the support of both KRIV and Adlington Storage, the Clough could not be kept open for public access.

KRIV WORKING IN TINKERS CLOUGH: FRIDAY 21ST AUGUST: PLEASE TAKE CARE.
On Friday 21st August, the Kerridge Ridge and Ingersley Vale Volunteers (KRIV) will be back carrying out essential work in Tinkers Clough. The work will take place from around 10AM to 3 PM, weather permitting.

Funding for this work has been very generously donated by our near neighbours, ADLINGTON STORAGE.

A huge thank you in advance for the support of both KRIV and ADLINGTON STORAGE without whose help and support we couldn't keep the Clough open for community use.
