Silkscreen Film Society is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers on behalf of its members. Set up in 2001 by a small group of enthusiasts, the Society now has well over 300 members and has established itself as the focal point for people in the area who want to see a wide range of the best films from around the world. Chosen by a small team of members, films are selected because they have ex

ceptional qualities of direction, acting or cinematography. Our programme runs from September to March and we have two showings, usually at 5.30 and 8.00 pm, on designated evenings. Films are projected on state of the art digital equipment in a 250-seat auditorium in Macclesfield’s historic Heritage Centre, close to excellent parking areas and restaurants.

Following the two technical faults during showings of '20,000 Species Of Bees' and 'Io Capitano' we have decided to offer another date at the end of our usual season, on Wednesday 25th March, and screen the two films one more time for those of you who want to see them uninterrupted. We will programme ’20,000 Species of Bees’ at 5.30pm and ‘Io Capitano’ at 8pm. You will be able to bring a guest free of charge. We are aware that our early doors audience may find it inconvenient coming to ‘Io Capitano’ at the later time, but you do have another option. It is possible to stream the films at home. ‘Io Capitano’ was shown recently on Channel 4 and is still available for free on their catch-up service. ’20,000 Bees’ is available on several paid for streaming services; Apple, Amazon Prime, Curzon, You Tube.
