Macclesfield and Congleton Scout Communications Team

The primary purpose of the Macclesfield and Congleton Scout Active Support Communications Team is to:
• Give Scouting in the District access to well maintained, high grade, two way radio equipment and public address equipment when it is requested for events.
• To support leaders in the District who are organising events with an appropriate level of radio communications advice and to assist in the

communications aspects of the event planning and organisation when requested to do so.
• To run radio communications services at Scouting events when that service is requested.
• To assist Cub and Scout groups doing their Communicator badge work.
• To give the opportunity for Explorer Scouts and members of the Scout Network in the District to develop their communications, teamwork, organisation and leadership skills through working with the Communications Team. We also:
• Support Groups running wide games where radios are advantageous.
• To support other Scout Communications Teams and the wider Scout movement as the need and opportunity arises.
• To support other community organisations and events as the need and opportunity arises.
• To develop communications services in areas outside the arena of 2 way radios and public address when the need arises within the District (e.g. wireless internet access hotspots etc.).
