Welcome to Prestbury Youth Pantomime Association
Prestbury Youth Pantomime Association welcomes young performers and adult helpers to help stage an annual pantomime performed in January each year. Set up over 40 years ago as an amateur musical theatre group for young people in school years 7 to 13, the show are held each September and those who have yet to tread the theatre boards are welcomed a
s much as experienced performers and stage-hands. If you’ve never taken part in an all-singing all-dancing show but love the idea of it then Prestbury Youth Pantomime would be a perfect place to start. The Association's aim is to provide a fun, safe and inclusive environment where performers can learn new skills and develop their enthusiasms, ambitions and talents. While expectations of commitment and standards of performance are high, the emphasis is on participation and inclusivity. We work hard and we have fun - Prestbury Pantomime is a fantastic way to learn new skills, build confidence and make new friends. Our dedicated backstage crew of adult helpers are a friendly bunch who work hard organising the rehearsals, creating scenery, props and costumes, helping with admin and advertising, and staging the production on show nights. We have great fun along the way and always warmly welcome new recruits. No previous experience necessary! Our week of performances take place at the wonderful MADS (Macclesfield Amateur Dramatic Society) Little Theatre on Lord Street, a traditional proscenium arch style theatre with a tiered seating auditorium. Previous shows have included Aladdin, Cinderella, Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood, Dick Whittington and Snow White.
